Hello everyone, My name is Sally. My husband Paul is in the Navy. We will be moving to the area at the end of this year when Paul is stationed in Norfolk. We are known as ssallykat and Paul! on other forums. I know it is still several months away, but I wanted to introduce ourselves, so that we will know some of the local MINIacs before we arrive. We have not been in a club for a few years, but feel a less structured, fun club would be worth looking into. Paul is deployed at the moment, but when he returns, he will introduce himself.

Nice to meet you Sally and Paul. I'm not big on structured clubs either. Around here it's really laid back.

That's what I love about HR MINI. Everyone seems to have a lot of fun. And you get to choose how active you wanna be. Major to kudos to the founding fathers (and mothers) of HRMINI. I think most of us have had enough of the "club" mentality. Actually, with all the clubs I've been in, that should be the "clique" mentality.
Wait, I kinda got off on a tangent there. Sally and Paul, WELCOME to the area and HR MINI. Where are you at now?

"Actually, with all the clubs I've been in, that should be the "clique" mentality." maacodale, this is so true! Too highschool for us. Looking forward to the laidback "club" where my husband and I can motor in our JCWs.
We are coming from Columbia MD. So far, all I know is Paul will need to be there sometime in Dec. I may have to come down a little later after getting this house in order. We recently got married last Halloween, so Im a bit new to the whole military life. Being with people who are just as crazy about MINIs as I am will help make the move a little easier. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and more!

Welcome Sally. It's great that you've introduced yourself in advance of the move. By time you get here, you'll already be a well known entity. In addition to MINI's, if you like to eat, drink and socialize, I believe you've hit the motherlode here. Just keep an eye on the "recent forum topics" on any given day, and you'll get the point.

Welcome to the club Sally & Paul! The more the merrier. I think you'll be satisfied with our club. We all just enjoy hanging out and having a great time. And anyone can put together an event. "If you plan it, they will come!" Again welcome to the club! We look forward to meeting you soon.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcomes!
Some of you may already know us. We have been in the MINI scene for a few years now. We were in VA beach two(?) years ago for the Guinness world record attempt. We have also been to the Dragon, MINIs on Top, and Paul was even Event Coordinator for a local club for a while. He still has one of the runs he developed saved in his GPS.
Anyone going to MINI united?
