Just wanted to pass on to everyone.... I called Fontana Village today to double check our reservation and while I had them on the phone I asked when they would be taking reservations for next years MOTD (April 28 - May 2, 2010). They informed me that they will start taking reservations on this Wednesday, April 15 @ 8 am. For Reservations call: 800-849-2258  |

I also called Fontana today to confirm our reservation. They had us staying one extra night, until Monday. They corrected the problem and we are good to go.
Thanks for the info on next year's event. I will call after "Tax Day" and make a reservation for next year.

We're booked too!   Update on info. in 1st post.....reservations are open for 2010 only for people who currently have 2009 reservations. ONLY FOR 2009 RESERVATION HOLDERS!!!!!  That's discrimination I tell ya! Wait! Maybe being on the waiting list "might" qualify as having a reservation........ I'll find out. |

Not sure if the lady at Fontana was right or not, but when I made my reservations for MOTD 8, She said I was getting the last lodge room and they only had 3 bedroom cabins left. That was last Sunday. Could that be right? I'm going to call tomorrow and get on whatever waiting list they have for a room for Tyler, just in case he can make it down from Rhode Island next year.

I think it is kind of luck of the draw. :065:Just booked my 2bed/ 2bath cabin about 90 minutes ago. It may be a member cabin - I'm not sure I care one way or another. Needed cabin in order to keep dog. Dog not allowed in lodge.  Be sure to mention you are MINI people. I was asked if I was. Maybe that made a difference. As for baby sitting Maggie - just goes to show she wins hearts everywhere she goes.  People don't remember Dave or my names,  but they all remember Maggie and those people who hold her leash.  |

For those of you that don't know,he pretty much rounds up the entire MINI's on the Dragon by himself. Yea, he's got help, but he does a heck of a job!

Yea, I had forgotten to put a size down for one of my Dragon T shirts this year. Barry very politely called me and scolded me for holding up the entire Dragon shirt order! I think I still owe him a beer or something for that one! I did call him back as soon as I got the message. It was funny, but I can imagine the headache I almost caused him!  |

caught this on KILLBOY's site...
I still haven't heard why Tapoco shut down, but I kinda know the family that owns it, and I doubt they are hurting for income. I'm inclined to believe they just got tired of the stress/effort involved in running it. They were certainly booked up for the year and sent several groups scrambling for lodging when they announced the closing.
In case anyone had a ressie and hadn't heard . . .
