I'm just gonna pretend I didn't see that  icon_rolleyes

Now Now Barry, I was only giving my HR MINI friends an easy out for not registering yet. As of that post, there were NO HR MINI members listed. Dang, I gotta go register too! What is that about people in glass houses?..... 044

Regarding the Spring Dragon .. I am one of those procrastinators .. definitely have plans to go, but have not yet registered ..

I'll be driving out from Raleigh on Thursday and there will likely be a contingent from the area doing the same if your travels take you via this direction, it would be great to co-ordinate!

2ndly -- since there seem to be many posts on this thread referencing reservations but as Dale posted, no one from HRMINIs registered, if there are any of you who have a cabin reservation at Fontana who have either changed their minds or are no longer able to go, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not call Fontana and cancel and lose your deposit -- send me a PM instead. We have 4-6 of us who would like to share a cabin but due to some computer issues at checkout last fall, we do not have a reservation. Fontana is very good about transferring a cabin reservation AND the credit card the deposit is charged rather than lose your deposit.

Look forward to seeing you all soon!  038

I feel pretty slack. Last night I realized I never registered, so I am NOW officially in! I have Regina registered, but she might not be able to make it. Christy is also registered and it might just be me and her going. She has vowed to drive the Dragon. Pretty impressive a 16 year old girl wants to slay the dragon! Of course we'll have to do it early and avoid the rush hours(s)! But she's psyched! She also knows she'll have to attend the noobie meeting. But we've had her out on some tristies and she is pretty good. She liked the roads around Montery that Saturday night.

I don't recall there being a noobie meeting.  017  Of course, when I first went in '08, I did not get there until late Friday.

Here's the LINK FOR THE NEWBIE MEETING

Biggest thing is to stay in your lane! Even some veterans seem to for get that. Granted, I may dip onto the other lane every so often. But that is ONLY when I absolutely have full view around a corner and beyond. Even then it may only be a tire width or so. I've seen people with half their car and more across the yellow line! Definite no no 018 That was one of the FIRST things Christy was instructed about.

So does that mean she's gonna brave the 6 speed or are you planning to have her an automatic cabrio by then?

The Auto might have to wait until after the Dragon. She does okay once shes driven for a while. She just hates the first few starts, but she;ll get more accustomed to it.

I went to the Newbie Meeting last year.  It was full of good advise, scary photos of wrecks of fellow MINIs and a speed limit  group introduction drive.  Very helpful and a great way to learn what to expect on the Dragon
