We were at Hampton Roads Harley Davidson today and saw a 2009 Festival Schedule for Rockahock Campground. Big Deal, right?  Well, yes! It is a big deal because it said that on July 11 there is going to be the 3rd Annual Mini Cooper Car Parade. Does anyone know anything about this?  Is this a Seven Cities event?  Deals please.  |

I am sooo confused. It is only a little over a month away and we haven't heard anything about this. Who is responsible for this event? Rockahock? That seems weird. There's nothing on River City MINIs, Seven Cities Site is still down, and I couldn't find anything on NAM about it either. What the heck? And yes, I would think there would need to be a 2nd in order to have a 3rd. Unless they are referring to the 3rd attempt. The first was down in VA Beach, then second at Rockahock. (stating obvious known info.) I think I'll call Rockahock on Monday between classes and see what the heck is going on. |

That is so wild. The link Scott put up says "annual" parade. I wonder if the campground was offered some assurances last year that we'd make the trip yearly.... ?? I also wonder how early Rockahock put together their yearly brochures? It was a fun roadtrip last year  |

Has anyone informed these folks that the new record is over 800 cars, and that this is Minis 50th Anniversary year? If what I've been reading in Mini World Magazine is even close to truth, the L2B will probably draw 2000 Mini/Minis or more. Me thinks records in the USA for the most MINI's doing anything will not likely get anywhere near those numbers.
A good deal more notice would be mandatory. And a whole lot more MINI owners must be informed to even think of pulling off numbers like that.

Perhaps we could get this added to the calendar. If not it's likely to be a very small parade It's more likely to be a non-existent parade since C7M is the organizer of it.  |

You're welcome to do as you wish but I wouldn't count on there being very many other Minis there. Se7en Cities Mini hasn't been doing much of anything for over a year save a car show at Checkered Flag 3 or 4 months ago. |

Ditto, nothing personal, but after my personal experience at Rockahock, and seeing how uncooperative they were, I'll never darken their door again. At a MINImum it'll be a cold day in Hades for me to be there. I'd rather stay home and detail my MINI or maybe organize another event the same day.

I called Rockahock and asked if I could be connected to the organizer. I never got a return call. Also have been in touch with a S7M member and nothing seems firm. This is not even advertised on NAM. I think the only reason it is on the Rockahock calendar is because no one removed it.
If it is not organized and not advertised there are no vendors, band or events planned. I do not plan to show up to this event.
