As some of y'all know Tyler has been down in Charlotte at Johnson & Wales in their culinary program. He's always wanted to be a chef since he was 12. I'm very impressed at his drive and determination. For example, in High School, he attended the culinary program at New Horizon's Region Education Center. At the same time he worked at the Williamsburg Inn in their kitchen. He had found out the Queen of England was coming for Williamsburg 300th birthday. He told us "he was gonna cook for the Queen". He had quit the Inn by that time to play football for Poquoson High School for his senior year. That didn't stop him from contacting the Colonial Williamsburg foundation and inquire about coming to help out with the Queens visit. He was told he couldn't just come and help out, so he somehow got them to hire him back just for the day. So he got to live out one of his dreams AND get paid at the same time. Again, I was impressed.
So fast forward to May 23rd and Charlotte's Bobcat Arena. Tyler graduated with his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts. Not only that, but he did it
"cum laude", with honours as I had explained to me. But I think I knew that...
So it's off to Disney to work again this summer (he did his externship there over the holidays) and then on to Providence, Rhode Island's campus of Johnson & Wales in the fall to start his Bachelor's Degree studies in Nutrition.
So just a really cool "
Atta Boy from a very proud Dad and Mom!
Congratulations Tyler!!!!!
