Hey gang, I had a thought about doing something after the winery run July 18. I thought we'd be close to the Skyline drive and the Blue Ridge Pkwy. Some of the Tar Heel group (a couple of silly girls, no less icon_lol) mentioned something about making a run Sunday.

Any of y'all wanna join them?

Ditto the more info.  Sounds interesting.  I think that only puts us about 1/2 way or so to Skyline and such but I don't have a map handy.  Are we thinking a sleep over trip?

I'd think an overnight stop would be in order. We'd be pretty tired after the winery. We don't have anything planned at all at the moment. Just getting thoughts. Skyline drive is nice, but it'll take us further north. Blue Ridge Pkwy is a bit nicer I think, but we're heading  more west. Doesn't matter to me, though the Carolina contingent might wanna head back their way.

Here's the thoughts so far:

After the winery, head over to Staunton to Wright's Dairy for dinner and ice cream, then back to Waynesboro for an overnight stay. Sunday, rise and shine and wheels up at 8:30 (ish) for a trip up the Skyline Drive to Front Royal. That should run about 4 hours +/- depending on stops for lunch and biological breaks (ie; potty stops). Lunch/early dinner in the Front Royal area and then head southeast back to Hampton Roads with an ice cream stop along the way. I'm thinking that should put us home around 8PM.

So expense wise, we'd have entry fee to the skyline drive of 15 bucks per MINI, hotel in Waynesboro of around 90 bucks and eats and gas. Shouldn't be too expensive of a weekend. But that all depends how much we spend at the winery. Also, if we're loaded up with chairs, coolers etc, that might make for a crowded weekend as well. If y'all are interested and thinks it doable let me know and I'll start on the logistics.
