I have a 1978 Mini 1000 in the shop at Abacus Racing. (By the way does anyone have an opinion or general knowledge concerning Abacus they would care to share? They are taking a long time to sort out the issues with my car.) The mechanic told me the circuit board that controls the gauges is damaged and needs to be replaced. I called Mini Mania and they said the boards aren't manufactured anymore so I would have to locate a used one. Does anyone know where I can get one?

As to "what about Abacus"

they are considered #1 in many environments.  2 the best of my knowledge there are folks that drop off the car and say "call me with a bill"

IME they fixed my 79 Mini below their estimate in 1 day while at the same time I saw a Mini sit in their shop for months.  Maybe some folks drop off a car and arrange for incremental repairs as they can fund ......

Read "Classic Motorsports" and you'll see MANY AB references.  My experiences were GOLDEN.  But I suspect low $ jobs fall between the BIG $ jobs they do and I was lucky to live close at the time .....

ONE LINER:  I WISH I still lived close to AB cuz I would have NO hesitation to pay them to fix an engine or suspension issue on my 79.  U can pay less and U will get less.

I had my engine rebuilt at Abacus.  It wasn't cheap, but I am a satisfied customer.

What circuit board are talking about?

If you are local to Hampton Roads, call Steve Gibbs at 880-9283.  He runs a little shop over in Hampton and pretty much works exclusively on Mini's.  Tell him T.J. gave you his number.  He likes gearboxes, engines, and suspension more than electrical work, but he very well may have what you need.

I'll second Steve and his work. I've known Steve for 20+ years and he's a great, knowledgeable guy. We just painted a classic for him and his work on it was just this side of flawless.
