Hello everyone!!  I am a new Mini Convert!  I took delivery last Wednesday on my '09 Horizon Blue Mini Cooper Convertible with denim blue top and am LOVING every minute.

I have never been one to really enjoy driving.  It's always been something I've done because I must, in order to get from point A to point B.  But this past week has been a truly different experience for me!  I find myself looking for excuses to drive!  Especially topless!!!

My co-workers are all extremely jealous of me.  And my kids think I've lost my mind.  But I can assure you, I am fully in control of my gray matter and enjoying it immensely!!

I'm hoping to order my personalized plates in the next week or so.  They will read "PHLPPR" as I am a HUGE dolphin lover.  I am also looking into dolphin decals for my doors.

I was thrilled to find this forums.  I look forward to "waving" to everyone and getting to know my fellow Converts!

Good to have another MINIac with us. I'm starting to really like the horizon blue. I saw one yesterday at AMC24 in Hampton last week. Hope to meet up with ya sooner or later. As for the driving with no reason, yea, get used to that. In fact, head out to Doumar's in Norfolk Thursday for some burgers and ice cream. We'll have a few MINI's there!

I would love to, but sadly I work on Thursday.  I do 12hr shifts so it makes some things hard to do... but is nice that I get a few extra days off each week.  I am hoping to at least stop in at Carrabas next week, but will be a little late as I don't get off until 7:00.

I fell in love with the Horizon Blue on line, and hadn't actually seen one until a few days before mine arrived.  I was a little apprehensive doing that, but was pretty sure the color scheme would work out great.  Friends did see an MCS convertible in the Horizon Blue with Denim top the other day, so I know there's more than one of me running around.

Nice comeback  038   As a new Mini owner you absolutely have style and flash now !!!  Don't forget to wave at all Mini's that you might see on the roads during your "motoring adventures" .   Many of the "newbies" to the Mini culture do not wave as we all did in the past, but wave at them anyway. They may eventually catch on and join in the fun of being in an exclusive group of Mini motoring fans !

I've actually been waving at ALL Mini's but have yet to have anyone wave back.  Won't deter me tho!!  I love the sense of belonging and will continue to spread the Mini Love!

I did have an interesting experience yesterday at a light on Holland Road.  A woman in a LARGE truck pulled up next to me, leaned out the passenger window and yelled "Excuse me... is that a Volkswagen?  I said NO, it's a MINI COOPER!"  She smiled and said "Adorable car, I have got to go check them out!!"  I am loving all the attention!

That's the double edge sword of owning a MINI. First, you get instant access to our cult like obsession with the little cars. Secondly, you need to know as much about them as possible. Because you're actually an ambassador for MINI. People will ask you all kinds of questions. I've even let people sit in the Clubman.

And keep waving, you'll find another waver out there soon enough. The only problem I have is that I try to wave to MINI owners when I drive one of the other cars. They just don't seem to get it when a Ford F250 waves at 'em!

My biggest problem with owning my mini is that often I'm moving entirely TOO fast to have time to wave!!! 112

Know the feeling !  Can also relate to what Dale said as well. I have a tough time remembering to NOT wave when I am driving anything other than my Mini 018
