I hope everyone comes motivated. Bring your Cameras, Video Camera's, Flashlights, children, etc. And since it will be a Friday night before Halloween. I am hoping nobody minds being out a little late.  023

30OCT09 -

6ish pm - Meet at point "A" at Sonic on Military Highway. We can decorate our Mini's and nab up some grub. And then head out by 7 to Hunt Club Farms.

7:00 pm - En-route to Elbow Road. Which is supposedly haunted by different spirits. Break out Camera's and Flashlights, we will make a few stops to see if we can pick up any orbs or ghosts. 044

8ish pm - Meet at point "C" at Hunt Club Farms Haunted Halloween Fest! $30 each (Unlimited Scream Wristband for all 3 events).

Dont Miss out!

Closes at 11pm

I will continue to update if anything changes.

I'll ask around. I have a pretty big interest in the paranormal. (besides being abnormal about MINI's!). In fact, I'm going on my first paranormal investigation Friday. I'll ask if they know of any other sites. That is if I make it through the night without wetting myself!

Four to add to your list:

1.  There is supposed to be an old haunted house just down the road from Yorktown beach.

2.  Crawford/Crafford Road (depending on whether you are in Newport News or Yorktown) is just off Rt. 238 up the road from the beach.  Supposedly people have seen Revolutionary War soldiers walking through the fog at night there.  I've driven it at night in the past, and the road does seem creepy because a large portion is just woods and no houses.   105

3.  A friend and several others went to West Point to see a ghostly railroad conductor who was killed late at night in the yard there many years ago.  He claimed he saw a floating lantern in the woods.  The shadowy figure threw the lantern, and then it disappeared.   119

4.  You can always visit the old buildings at Eastern State Hospital where I worked for five years.  Maybe some old patients still wandering from the lobotomy days?    103

Tentatively putting this on the calendar.  That is a Thursday?  What time is the proposed start up time?  I do have to work until 7:00 so may have to meet up with the group after work.

If it's not a biggy could me and my wife tag along? I am all about it. Done some stuff in the past. I come from a pretty haunted part of PA in Berks County. Berks County has alot of ghost history....there are 3 books by author Charles J. Adams III on everything he could dig up. And you really need to go to Gettysburg and stand outside late at night, I have heard rifle's fire, and seen lantern lights. Really crazy stuff.

I am gonna say make this date on the 30th instead? Would that work out better for everyone?

I am still piecing my Murder mystery together that will also tie in with the route we drive. All I can say now is that I am researching old cemeteries as a start point. And start time will be approx 6pm. You can decorate your mini up beforehand or dress it up at the Cemetery if you dare.  077

More details to come.

Just remember it's illegal to be in a cemetery after dark without permission.. Same with a school yard. Wonderful VA laws.

Consider "Roswell" in Glouester County as a possible SPOOKY destination. In my high school days we used to go there a lot. These days I believe it is only open by appointment, but it is a neat place !  I have always wanted to go to West Point to see the strange light's there, but have never made it  icon_cry

That would work better for me as I'm off Friday & Saturday, but I'll go with the majority (especially as I'm new around here  039 )

I really wanted to add this into the drive as a starting point in Yorktown. But it would add another 40 minutes to the drive to get to Portsmouth, which would run over 7pm deadline. As I am trying to keep everything on time in the few hours this will be.

Just remember it's illegal to be in a cemetery after dark without permission.. Same with a school yard. Wonderful VA laws.

Yeh which is why I am not even gonna try... =/ But the olde towne walk begins in the cemetery of Trinity Episcopal Church. Never been there....but shall see.

Let me know it I need to change this on the calendar.  023

Updated and make changes to calender please.

I also need any input to the times and events I have edited and posted.

Yeah, I did not think you would want to do the run from one side of the water to the other.  In order to effectively add Crawford Road to the list, you would have to make your starting point Short Lane Ice Cream in Gloucester.

Only other idea is to have another run on Halloween.  Of course, that kills parties and trick-or-treating.

Sounds like fun! I'll be there unless something comes up.

I live in Portsmouth and have always wanted to do the Ghost Walk. Trinity is pretty creepy at night, so I wouldn't be too surprised to find a couple of former Portsmouth residents hanging around. Guess I need to start looking for a big orange bow for my Bumblebee! 077
