The 24th Annual World Championship Punkin Chunkin will be held on November 6th, 7th and 8th in Bridgeville, DE. Last year the record was broken with an air cannon launching a pumpkin 4400feet. I am thinking about running up there for Saturday's festivities. Gates open at 7:30am so it'd be an early early morning.

Anybody interested? The event is at the intersection of Seashore Hwy & Coverdale Rd in Bridgeville, DE 19933

Well I wasn't going to go until I looked at the mapquest. It's only 270 miles from me and 175 from you guys. That isn't terrible for pumpkin throwing madness!

Have seen video's of this annual event in the past. It is HIGHLY impressive !!!!  Some of the competitors REALLY take this stuff seriously and spend as much as a whole year desigining and building a machine that will only shoot Pumpkins  and chase the record ! It's a way cool event and should be a ton of fun to attend !  I won't be able to make it to this event  icon_sad as this date is scheduled during the first week of the special muzzle loader deer hunting season, and I will be in the woods that whole week with one of my "primitive weapons", either a flint lock or percussion muzzle loading
firearm,  and will be  trying to take a trophy buck deer or just harvest an animal to stock my freezer with meat.

Well If anyone is interested in joining me, I think I am going to drive down to the baybridge tunnel and take that route up the eastern shore to the site.
