The difference between a yankee and a damned yankee is partially geographic. Yankee: A person from North of the Mason-Dixon line who ventures South of the Mason-Dixon for a visit. Damned Yankee: A person from North of the Mason-Dixon line who ventures South of the Mason-Dixon and stays.

I stayed, and my manners are impecable (spelling). My spelling may have suffered a bit, but I won't hold that against anybody from south of the Mason_Dixon line. Besides, who here wouldn't like to try some serious winter driving? Oh no, I may have opened up another can of worms....

I was born and raised right here in Norfolk and I can drive just fine in winter weather, thank you.

Question:
I'm from North Dakota (btw, i drive great in snow), but that is North, but the Mason-Dixon line was long gone before ND became a state and I have stayed down here for 10 yrs now. does that make me a yankee, damn yankee, or just a canadien with US citizenship? LOL

Born Southerners are self-deluded believing they drive "just fine" in winter weather. I prefer to think of myself as a transplant since I spent more years here now than in the North. Don't be offended if I stay far behind your fine snow driving. I just don't like dents on my pretty MINI. LOL

First... welcome back.
Second, for those who comment about driving, there's simply a lack of common sense about it around here, regardless of where people are from. Perhaps it's just that there are so many military people, and they are not familiar with the area. How's this for comparison... should I even mention all of those that talk on their cell phone while driving? Doesn't matter where they come from then. And you're more likely to get in an accident doing that then in the snow.

With all this talk about bad driving, I just want to know why buisness isn't better. (Auto Body Repair) How about you Dale, getting much accident work, or more just paint 'em work?
