Thanks Dave.  Good luck with the soggy basement.  I wish I could have a basement over here in Bayview.  If you dig down over a foot or so here you hit water even in a drought!  107

Isn't that called an indoor pool?  (sorry, couldn't resist!)

We faired well here.  Power flickered a lot, lost phone service completely until late tonight, but managed to not get flooded and didn't lose internet.  We did discover a leak in the soffet over the dining room that will need repaired before the next major storm, but all in all feel very lucky!

You wouldn't want to use my basement for an indoor pool !  Understand that you couldn't resist !!!!  Ha Ha ! I will get you back as soon as I can 110   Have many dead crickets and other crap floating in the basement at this time. It's is  not pretty  120  It's all good though, no real damage to the house, my spare engine is high and dry, and thankfully Kathy reminded me that I had a MCS supercharger on the basement floor, and I moved it up above the floor level yesterday before the water level got up in the basement.

Sounds like everyone made it throught the other side without too much damage. 023  We'll be soggy for days to come 045 I'm sure and just missed becoming long term water front property 120 this go around.  Clean up is really going to suck.  Surely not  009 a weekend project.  Community yard of the month is down the drain 045 for months to come.  icon_lol

We never lost power so that's a good thing.  Most everything is underground around here so I guess that has it's advantages during times like these.

Stay safe everyone.  Clean up can be a dangerous situation in itself.  045

I guess I got lucky.  Stayed on high ground through it all.  worst thing is that my back yard is a swamp now.  Hopefully the new grass I had going won't be drowned out.  That is the fifth crop I've tried to get growing back there this year.  Everytime it has gotten drowned.  LOL.  Only had power flicker a couple times thursday night as we were getting ready for bed.  Then  all was good from there out.  Had minor damage to house, the back door that has been on its last leg for a while now started leaking so I had a wet spot in the back of the house during the worst of it.  Guess I better get off my butt and fix the door.  LOL.  Hope everyone is staying safe.  With any luck the weather will be much nicer tomorrow so we all may make the most of a weekend day!  Hope to see everyone at Bass Pro Shops tomorrow!

In our part of Poquoson we had about 8" in the garage and about the same under the house so we made out fairly well. After Isabel we had to have the ducting and insulation underneath replaced. This time maybe just portions of ducts that dipped under support beams, HVAC inspector comes tomorrow.

While we had our Mini's parked by Taylor's Hardware (higher ground) for the duration of the storm they both got tagged with "HRMINI" cards. There were a couple others besides ours in the lot. They're both back now and ready to get washed!

I thought you'd like that 023

There were actually 4 MINI's in the lot. Heck, I remember when Checkered Flag didn't have that many!

Sorry to hear about Tug.   009  At least you have spares.   115

Tide-wise, it would have to be a Category 4 or 5 strength before we would have to worry about water levels.  Additional joy is our neighborhood power is all underground.  Power flickered three times when I got up on Thursday morning.  Went to work for all of two hours when the base commander decided to close.  Guess Ft. Eustis can't close unless Newport News schools close.   104

Power went out once for about ten seconds before the backup circuit kicked in.  Thankfully, that works.  Ten years ago, it would have been power out, backup kick in, then backup fail.  Yours truly complained on that one, and Va. Power came out and fixed it a couple of weeks later.  Power had gone out like ten times that year.  I'm sure they did not enjoy hearing I have $10K of computer equipment at home on top of that.   093

Most everyone I have talked to so far at work had power.  I hope everyone on here faired well, too.  One person lost power for eight hours, and another for one day.  The rest had flickers.   109

Yeh my power went out Thursday afternoon about 6ish and did not come back on till about 9pm Friday night after me and Stephanie got back from seeing the new Christmas Carol in 3D Imax. Which if ya'll have not seen it yet. It was very good! No flooding whatsoever here. But alot of wind damage...few trees and powerlines and my fence were victims. Lots of trash blown all over the roads... And a very small scratch on my mini's rear bumper from my Recycling bin I suppose is where that came from... But could have been worse..  023

I do have to go to the dealership though. Found a leak in my drivers side window. After seeing small water stain on my seat and some dew on the seat handle along with damp carpet aside seat. If I spray with hose...it trickles from top of window...the gasket is jacked up or something... not cool for a '09...

My sunroof seal failed mostly along the front edge not long after I bought it from my friend in July 2005.  My guess is they did not use a good glue from the factory.  I used black RTV w/metal grit, and it's held up really well.  I used a burnt incense stick (I save them for paint stirrers) to put small dabs inside the seal groove, then I left the sunroof cracked so no pressure was put against it until the RTV dried.

Some have suggested the drain tubes can come loose, provided you have a sunroof.  The other thing it could be is a bad seal around the windshield.  Because of its shape, it either becomes sealed too well (which leads to a stress crack), or it can be too loose (which leads to a leak).  I'm on my fourth windshield.
