I would like to alert any classic Mini owners visiting this site, who we may not already have in our club database, about the following upocoming classic Mini events:

January 30 - Dyno Day at Abacus Racing, Virginia Beach
(This date is still tentative as of this writing, but I am hoping it gets confirmed this coming week. If not, a back-up date would be sometime in early February)

During this Saturday event we will be afforded the opportunity to place our Minis on the rolling road chassis dyno and come away with a printed readout of torque, BHP and air to fuel ratios. Each session "on the rollers" would consist of two dyno pulls. Depending on the number of participants, minor tuning adjustments can be made while the car is on the rollers. If we have a healthy turnout of cars however, those tuning adjustments will need to be made off the rollers, and then the car brought back on for another session at an additional cost. The cost of this event will be negotiated depending on how many the cars we get to participate. The more cars participating, the lower the cost per car. http://www.abacusracing.com/services.nxg/#EngineDyno

March 27 - Spring Driving Tour, Richmond
This Saturday driving event will take us on a complete lap around the City of Richmond. We will travel scenic and secondary roads in both directions between the Hampton Roads area and Richmond.

May 1&2 - Cars and Camping, Newport News & Williamsburg
Participation in the annual European and British Car Show at New Town in Williamsburg will include one night of Mini camping at Newport News Park on Saturday night. Keep an eye on the following web site to gain access to on-line pre-registration for the car show http://www.wmbgbrit.com/events_club_trips.htm

September 18 - Cruise to Moss Motors, Petersburg
This Saturday drive will take us on county back roads adjacent to the Rt.460 corridor, culminating in a tour of Moss' recently opened east coast distribution warehouse. http://www.mossmotors.com/sitegraphics/ ... smove.html

November 27 - Turkey Run IV, Eastern Shore of Virginia
This will be a full day drive nearly up to the Maryland state line and back, paralleling Rt.13 on back roads in both directions as much as possible. Scenic stops will include but not be limited to visits to Assateaque Island http://www.assateagueisland.com/ and Chincoteague Island, http://www.chincoteaguechamber.com/ where we will have lunch.

Participation in MAM events is limited to classic Mini's only. If you are Bi-Minual like I am, please do as I do and leave your new MINI at home during our MAM events. For anyone who does not own a classic Mini, but would like to experience one, you are invited to join us by riding shotgun in someone elses Mini for the day during any of our events.
