I have a set of Crown Spokes that I'm going to sell Mike.  They are 17" and for the newer, 2007 and up Minis but they will still fit your car.  I think I paid $450 for the set, if you want them I'll sell them to you for $400.  I need the money more than I need the rims collecting dust.

Hey Mike,

I can offer some info on Yokohama S drives. DON'T! We have them on both MINI's and really liked them when we first got them. As they're wearing they are becoming super noisy. Almost to the point of making me think I have a wheel bearing going bad. Very annoying. Not realy sure what will replace them, but I can tell you it surely won't be S drives!! Also, I bought them based on a recommendation from my Tire Rack rep for wet traction. That too has been somewhat disappointing.

Thanks for the thoughts Jeff and Dale. If you could attach a pic of the crown spokes, that'd be great. I'm still doing a little checking but will have a new set by the time of the Dragon. 039

This is just a pic I grabbed off of a google search, not the actual rim.  They are packed up in boxes and will require some digging.

I'm a huge fan of the Hankook Ventus V4 es tires.  I had two sets on my '02 MCS, and I'm going to get them again whenever I can find the rims I'm trying to buy.  They grip the road well and are fairly quiet throughout their life.   023

They still sell the Hankooks at Pep Boys.  Try waiting until they do the Buy 3 Get One Free deal.  This requires tires, mounting, and balancing to get the rebate.

Prior to the Hankooks, I had the Yokohama Paradas.  Loved the tread pattern; hated the noise!  The inner edge of them wore down (based on the way Minis have their camber set up) and eventually sounded like a set of Thornburgs going down the road!   103

I loved the set of BFG G-Force Sports we just had on, super sticky and handled GREAT, but wore fast aswell, like 25K.  Moved to Bridgestone Potenza cause of the 50K warranty.  It's a good tire that rides smooth and quiet and did excellent in the recent storms but not nearly as grippy as the G-Force as expected due to the harder compound.
