Hey Guys, I got an email from Craig of DC Metro MINI's. They're looking at setting up a gathering at Mach V Motorsports in Sterling VA. Here's THEIR SITE. The folks from Revolution MINI Works will be coming to do their legendary computer tunes. What's the big advantage? Simple, Mach V has an in house dyno, so you'll be able to see the benefits right there. YOu may not get an opportunity like this for a while. If you're interested either go to the DC METRO thread for more info. Or you can contact Craig at cmcveay@gmail.com for more info. He was at our Fall Colors Run. I'm interested, how about y'all?

I might be up for that depending on what day it is. I'll check out the links, consult my calendar, and get back to you. Watching the Rolex 24 hrs. was a great way to spend a snow day Great race I only ventured out today to clean off the vehicles, fill the bird feeders, shovel sidewalks, and go out to gas up Kathy's Apollo.

Make sure you shoot Craig an email so he can judge the interest.

Sounds like a plan. Got date? Could not find one (unless I'm blind). Very cool about RMW tuning the Porsche 997. I watched the beginning of the race; never got back to it.

Tried to find more info on the DCMM site. Not much to find. I'd go just to meet Jan. I think he got banned from NAM at least twice. That puts him up there in my book. He also had/has the first 500HP MINI on the planet. This was years ago before I gave up on that site. Good guy. Puts out good stuff.

I checked the link and only saw pricing for R53s & R56s...does this mean R50s/R52s cannot be RMW-tuned?

I'm gonna be a bit ahead of this. I got the 15% pulley of my old '02 MCS today. Going to Grassroots Garage on Friday to get Dan to install it and tune my '06 MCS. He's gonna datalog the engine, send the results to Jan at RMW, get a tune back, and load it in. Then I will spend some time down there doing some test driving, plus see about getting with some of the Tar Heel group for some dinner.

$700 for a tune on a R56 S? Did I read that right? What do they hand you or install for $700? Do they install a chip or are they just re-flashing the ECU? I could see $300 to $500 IF they install a chip. If it's just a re-flash of the ECU then that price is frigging preposterous! Besides the potential warranty issues, at that price Tug will NEVER have a custom tune! Sunday, April 25, 2010 at 9:00am through Monday, April 26, 2010 at 5:00pm

The cheapest, easiest tune on the R56 is to just increase the boost on the turbo. You would not really have to do anything in terms of adjusting A/F ratios or timing. You could go to a shop like DTP in Chesapeake. That's their specialty.
