Hey there from your favorite Missing In Action~ Big Red  044

My plan, truly, is to keep it simple just as in years past.  The parade entrance is the same street but the street name has changed....here's my update for the day:

Pre-parade breakfast meet for all participants and anyone else who would like to socialize at the Sonic adjacent to the Nimmo WAL-MART starting whenever....they open at 6am I believe.  This Sonic is less than 2 miles from Pungo and the festival.  The parade participants are asked to assemble at the same old Coast Guard Station..  I'm thinking we'll vacate Sonic by 8:30-ish. Bring books, chairs, drinks, and great conversation to pass the time until we start.
We invite everyone in the group to come out to take pictures and cheer along the parade route.  If you want to know more about the festival visit www.pungostrawberryfestival.info/

We can always consolidate a 2 car family if there's more interest. I'd like to keep the line at a max of 15 vehicles.
**Edit:** as of 5/15 I have:
This appears to be the final list:
1Bloodvayne
2Sim bob
3General Wee
4maacodale
5Larry
6Cheryl
7Tamela (maybe)
8Hankfrum
9Skargo
10Kathy Roberts/Kevin-alwyz open
11Christina Dwyer
12Mike
13Tyler
14 Seadawg
15 Seadawg's wife
Have I left anyone out?

 026 5/20/10 more info
There is a theme: its "stars n stripes". Car decorations very strongly encouraged. I'll see what pics I can dig up of past decor. I've used red/white/blue tinsel-garland and yard decorations that I found at Target/WalMart and Party City. Flags have been attached to boots (very easy to do on the convertible) Given the upcoming holiday, almost any store will  have something that you can  use.

page 5 of this thread from last year shows a few pics. http://www.hrmini.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,32/topic,3115.60/

For anyone wondering, the Pungo Strawberry Festival is May 29th and 30th.  Parade is on Saturday.  The official address is 1776 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA.  Parade entrace is usually at Princess Anne and Flanagans Lane.

Here are some old pics:
HR MINI - Pungo Strawberry Festival Parade - 2006
HR MINI - Pungo Strawberry Festival Parade - 2007

We usually meet at the Sonic at 1137 Nimmo Parkway, Virginia Beach, VA.  I think we depart from there at 9 a.m.

more to come. I have no idea about a post-parade lunch. I need to get the application submitted to find out what our spot# is in the parade to determine an approximate end time to our "route". Still plent of spots open!

Do you have to sign up to participate in the parade or just show up at the Sonic?  Sounds like fun!  038

Might be able to do this, but our schedule is still very fluid for this date, and weekend. Nice to know that we can just "show up" and still be included in the parade  023 Thanks for all the info !
