OK, I got my dates mixed up. Don't know what planet I've been on the past few days. This sounds like fun. I'm in. Shall we meet up at Maaco? Perhaps the Super-K parking lot at Exit 256B from I-64 off Victory Bouleveard? BTW, the tracker feature is cool. However, it's a reminder of what big brother can do these days. The BP station on Victory at the Newport News/York Co border works well. Easy access to 64 too. Lets meet there around 11:30 and be wheels up at noon. That'll give us an hour to get to Famous Dave's north of Richmond close to where 95 & 64 meet. Vlad said he should be in Richmond by 1 and I've driven that route enough to know that's pretty optimistic.

Thinking I will probably see you there tomorrow and am looking forward to it. Any place named "Famous Dave's" has got to be worth a try and any excuse to go on a run with a group of Mini's is a HUGE draw

Okay, it's Saturday, The sun is out and it's time to do some motoring!
I checked Vlad's tracker site and as on 8:10 this morning he's in Cherry Hill, NJ. According to google maps, that's right at 5 hours to Richmond, which by both his and my calculations, will put him in Richmond right at 1 PM.
I'll be at the BP station on Victory Blvd at the Super K parking lot at exit 264 at 11:30 or so. We'll be westbound on 64 at noon sharp!
One thing I plan on doing is another pre run of the Spring Fling route. That should put me back in Hampton roads around 8or 9. Any takers?

OMG!, as the kids say Those of you that didn't join us in Richmond today missed one of the most fun times I've had in a long time. Vlad and Sergey were an absolute blast to hang out with! What a funny pair of guys! I'm amazed anybody ate anything with all the laughing and story swapping going on. If everybody in Russia is like these two I wanna go! I can only imagine what they'll experience on their trip from NYC to Key West. Especially the Key West part.......
Glad I got the chance to meet them, I won't soon forget it I promise! BTW, we did send a couple of Fall Color Run shirts back with them. So there will be an HR MINI shirt running around in Siberia soon. Amazing!

Yes, Vlad and Sergey were really cool. They had special MINI shirts made that said "NYC to Key West FL." And you can't go wrong with Famous Dave's BBQ (though it's not as good as Ice House!). Turns out another one of their passions is aviation. We talked about Sun-N-Fun, which is April 13th - 18th in Florida, as well as Osh Kosh! They've been there before. What a small world. Vlad and Sergey got a kick out of the fact I've drive my MINI up there twice in the past. I gave them a card with some info so they can stop by and join our tailgate party when we go up there again in July. Dale and I extended the trip and did some motoring on Skyline Drive. That was really nice, though my head's really thick right now. I thought it was from the pollen, but I have a sneaky suspicion one of my colleagues gave me a sinus cold.

Really happy that I managed to time things right and meet up with the group on the way to Richmond last Sat. ! It really was a lot of fun. Vlad is a natural comic Very funny guy and a lot of fun ! I was really glad that I made this run and met those two Russian's, It was well worth the trip Am hoping to be able to meet up with those two again VERY soon, maybe on their way back home ??? BTW, my problem with having no power @ the cig. lighter, and not being able to use my GPS was because of a blown fuse. Fixed that first thing, as soon as I got home. Now I am just wondering what caused the fuse to blow

I've been tracking them all day and Vlad and Sergey are officially on the Island of Key West as of 4:50PM today!
I bet those two will make quite an impression on the Key!
