I agree .. saw this post and was soooo tempted, from NC, but just a little too far for a Sunday .. would definitely be a consideration for next year tho .. be sure and let us know, by, what, February so we can get the crown tickets

(I see the Statute of Liberty will be closed for renovations sometime in the next year ... for like a year if I recall what I read correctly .. might want to check further into that when planning!)

The statue is scheduled to close in late 2011 for nine months to a year so a secondary staircase can be installed to aid in emergency evacuation.

We should be ok with the tentative date, 8/20/11.  003

Most likely it's going to be a weekend event. Tentative date is August 20-12, 2011.
