I was thinking we could change some of the names of the sections we currently have: Welcome to Hampton Roads MINIIntroductions Please Members Profile Everything MINI Off Topic Chat St!tch!n' & B!tch!n' Site Feedback Where are you? Rants and Raves Grease pitsAutoX Gearhead Exterior Mods ICE Wheels and Tires Mini Classics Social SidePhoto Gallery National Events Det Richmond Det DC Det Las Vegas Det San Diego Det Monterey Det Connecticut Det Florida Det Italy MarketMINI Stuff for sale Wanted Junque for sale Vendors Off topicJokes Testing Grunting & Scratching Six of those haven't had a new post in over a year. Several others had only a handful in the last 6 months. Maybe we could consolidate some of those, rename others, delete some or add a few. Maybe the site needs some new blood to kick it up a notch. Just food for thought. But I do agree, we should get some new pics of more recent times on the top banner. Maybe a new look over all might help. Though, Tar Heel redesigned their site a few months ago and I still can't find some things!

I agree. Older sections on the site that aren't being used should go. Also we really need to clean up all of the "FOR SALE" sites, as people that have posted in that area seem to be slack in updating their posts. Many items posted were sold MONTH'S or even years ago, but many of the "For Sale" posting are still on the site !

Well if that's the case on the front page. I could easily transition hrmini onto my web server with the current webmasters permission. I have a buddy from NC that I play online games with who has alot of experience with website designs. And could even whip something new up or update the current site with a fresh look. Here is his portfolio site: http://stevenweathers.com/ I could easily get him to help us out as I am tied up with numerous other things and am unable to finish or update my own websites (really need a month away from the Navy hehe...). Those who are currently administering the site or are in contact with the Webmaster let me know.

It takes alott of time and patience to maintain a web page. The maintaners of this page have done a good job, and i for one would hate to see this site close.

I want to thank you for all your support gang, but after seeing so much dissatisfaction on this thread I now know I do not have what it takes to keep up with the demands. I'm leaning towards maybe hosting any new event-type site that wants to be created until October. We still will have a HRMINI facebook site to be able to keep up with the "old & tired" social gang. I will be honest in saying that I can no longer see spending time & money on a place that is free for people to use and see so many complaints. I have removed myself from the admin section so any questions can be directed to obehave. Take care and thank you for wonderful memories and friendships made.

Not leaning towards a transition. I'm thinking maybe a whole new fresh site might be in order.

Wait one damn minute!
If you read the first post in this thread, the very last sentence says I don't think HR MINI SUX!
That thread was posted to get peoples attention. It worked. We got lots of answers. I just re read every post. I didn't even one post close to being considered a whiner. There was a lot of constructive criticism. I didn't see anyone comeclose to claiming they could do it better. I did see a lot of good suggestions.
The site is old. Technology, especially web based stuff, moves in lightyears it seems. No one can deny the site is in need of a good refresh. Tar Heel is on their third facelift now. There are things we can't do on our site. No ones fault, time has just passed this version of forums by.
And to make such an announcement now is poor timing. Throwing a bomb like this out before everyone is getting ready to leave for the Dragon isn't good.
I think you're in massive over react mode. Sure you're busy. We all are. Hell, I spend an average of 10 hours a day at the shop. I was there 12 hours today. But I find time for HR MINI. And it's members.
We have a good thing here at HR MINI. Yep, I'd like to see us be a lot more active as a whole. I'd like to see us expand. A good site update would probably help accomplish those goals.
We've know each other over 25 years. If you want to sell the site send me a PM and we can discuss price.
