I texted Dave Friday and he said the weather was great and they were having a blast! Lucky dogs!

It's 9:50 now, I imagine Darkness on the Dragon is wrapping up and the guys are getting ready for Midnight on the Dragon in a couple of hours!

Back from the Dragon and we had a blast again this year. The welcome dinner was good. I saw the other HR MINI folks from time to time. Looks like everyone was having a great time. We had friends from Indiana meet us. It was their first time. Their car broken down on Thursday so we shared our car with them. They are already making plans to return next year. Wish those that didn't make will be able to next year. It really is a great time. I'm thinking of putting together a run to Biltmore Estates next year.

It's not a car; it's a lifestyle

We had a wonderful time.  I think this was the best weather we ever had.  We got a lil bit of misty rain on Saturday evening, other wise it was about 80 every day.  I also think the lack of rain may have broke the record for the panorama photo.  We had cars trying to pull into line by driving on a 45 degree grass covered hill, horizontally.

You are right, we were having way to much fun to go up to the lodge to log in and do write-ups.  023 You know phones and laptops don't work too well through those mountains.

Speeding tickets were distributed liberally on the Dragon due to the extra attention of the rock slide.  Somehow, I snuck through without one, even though my speed matched some of those reported.   105  Unfortunately, there were also lots of tickets on the "leisurely" Dragon parade as well.   icon_cry

There was one car already wrecked prior to our arrival.  Seems like all sides were dented on the Hell Bender.  Driver was fine and after 2 days under the tent, it came out ready to make the drive home to great cheers from the crowd and war wounds to show off to admirers.   080

The Dragon portion of the road was open from 8am to 8pm so they organized the dark drives elsewhere, but I heard no complaints.  Everyone who wanted to drive the Dragon got to, multiple times.

Everyone has some different stories to tell so I'll leave room from those.  As for Dave, Maggie and I, we enjoyed our cabin, the nightly campfire with friends and marshmallows and the serenade by the group at Stonehenge.  Queen Bo Rap at the top of your lungs, rang out down the hills.... twice.

Yes, we did have a really good time.  The weather worked out the whole time for once, including the group photo.  Heck, I hardly saw some of the HR MINI groupies.  I put in more emphasis to do MOTD group runs this time around.

For those of you looking for updates while we were gone, the WIFI spots at Fontana SUCK!  I actually had better luck with my cell phone getting WIFI than my laptop.
