First, I wanted to thank everyone who attended this morning. Just as I suspected, you guys would rule the land in the event... I had many people come up to me from Checkered Flag about your showing and rest assured it went very well noticed that you guys made the effort to make this a successful first event! I mentioned to most of you that this is something that we would like to expand upon and grow over time creating more events and having lots of fun with our customers! John Hall and I have already sat down today after the event to start tossing ideas back and worth about future events. So I wanted to take a moment and try to reach out to you guys and see what suggestions you might have to make future events even better. Again, we really appreciate the support and hope that you'll joy us when we decide to do this again!  So I leave the floor to you, please leave your suggestions here where I can take them back to management to make the experience even better...

Before I go, I wanted to thank Dale Blankenship for the post about the event in the other thread. I appreciate the kind words... I also wanted to thank Kathy Roberts for her kind words as well about Checkered Flag! Enjoy the rest of your weekend and we'll see you very soon!

Nathan,

There are quite a few of us that are new MINI owners and new to the HRmini club. Your coffee event yesterday was my very first experience with mini owners and your dealership. What a great first impression you made. I have many questions regarding my car and what I can do with it. Maybe you could have the graphics guy come out next time so we can talk stripes? Have some impulse items for sale, like gum at the checkout. If you had some cool mini shirts, the rubbish bag, umbrellas, tow hook...things we've seen in the catalog but never in person....I would have laid down a credit card so fast. I love the coupon and will be in soon to use it, thank you! Too bad we can't set up cones next time and go around a few time? 002

Nathan,

Really enjoyed the Panera and coffee, perhaps add some water next time?

I agree with Mini Mia's mom.  Had a larger supply of hats/t-shirts merchandise been for sale at the event, I think there would have been some sales.  Perhaps your merchandise manager can join with a larger venue next time.    I know this was not to be a selling event, so I appreciate that.  Sometimes we just want to do a little shopping though. I also would have like to have seen another MINI or two.  I always like to see what is new.

Would we be welcome to bring an HRMINI banner to hang on our cars for publicity?

I am trying to think further on ideas for future events.  So I'll get back to you on that.

Do we have a banner? If not, we need one...BAD!

I've built banner frames out of PVC piping before, it works great and disassembles easily. I've even made flat metal plates to attach to the banner and the other end goes under the car tires to hold the banner in place. I'd be glad to build another one.

I agree, a few shirts and hats would be good to have. Geez, like I don't have enough of both already!

One thought I have always had concerns T shirts. If you've ever been in ANY Harley Davidson dealership, they have a great selection of T shirts specific to their area. The Myrtle Beach store has beach themed shirts, Orlando has Disney themed, DC had white house and American flag themed shirts. People buy them as souvenirs more than shirts. Why couldn't MINI dealers tap into this? Checkered Flag could have checkered flag or military themed shirts, Richmond could play off it's civil war and historic heritage, MINI of Baltimore County could play off Edgar Allen Poe or the Ravens, MINI of Annapolis could use it's boating fame for shirts.

I think the dealers are missing a great marketing opportunity. Granted, shirt sales aren't a major income avenue, but clothing sales are a very good chunk of Harley's annual income. I bet Craig (COOPERation) at Evergreen Graphics could come up with some awesome ideas!

Just a thought!

I'm one of "those" people that don't own a MINI!

Great stuff here Nathan.... wouldn't expect anything less from someone of your caliber.   You may be the sole reason CF sells more MINI's  now.  Please keep it up!

Thanks Nathan for arranging Cars and Coffee.  I apologize; I forgot to stop by and shake your hand.  icon_redface  Guess I'm a bit out of it since my MINI is still in the shop.  101  Hoping it's ready tomorrow.

Having the Porsches and Jaguars on display, with others showing up, made the turnout all the more cool.  I was remarking it would be nice sometime down the road to own a classic, such as an '80s Carrera, or maybe a Ferrari 308.  And the gentleman that showed up with his black '60s-style dragster.  118  That was just pure nostalgia.

I look forward to more events with CF.   023

Thanks VERY much to Nathan, John Hall, and all of CF for putting on this event. I think it went very well and is something that can be built on and grow. The Panera Bread treats and coffee were an excellant choice. Some water added would be a nice addition. Thanks again  038

Very nicely done Nathan!  YOU put on a good time for the Mini crowd!  Thanks!  Thankfully I didn't have need, but it was a nice touch to have the porta-potty available for those that did.  Maybe with the discount prices on clothing/hat items - some of the fun FREE Mini items (ie: the ZIG, ZAG, ZUG atenna balls and such).

All these suggestions sound great... I will definitely pass along the suggestions and please keep them coming! I do think next time we'll need to expand on the availability on accessories at the event... I'll make sure to slip that into the ear of our parts manager!

Thanks again and
Keep the suggestions coming!
