Ok so I need some help. Should I start with a small breakfast and have lots of room for early dinner or go with the old train of thought and stretch out the stomach with a big breakfast so I can fit more in later? Maybe we should have talked about this at the pub? How about the dinner the night before? Large? Small? O God what to do?
Ok you know I'm kidding right? icon_redface

Ditto that... Steve and I are STUFFED oh so STUFFED!  120 We will be wearing full elastic for a week. We had a great time. I only wish that they could have sat all of us together. Other than that, the trip down and back was wonderful. The food was great as well. I have to say that we have met so many awesome people through HR Mini. Though we are an Internet club, we are the best. We have been in many car clubs. HR Mini wins hands down. 026

Fun day with great people. I had a blast, but ate WAY too much !  We went to Coquino Beach after eating and stayed until after 7pm. The water was nice and cool. Very nice way to spend the day  038

Very enjoyable, even if it was hotter then Hell.   074  There were quite a few dragon flies out today.  They seemed to like our MINIs, too.   055  I saw one or two fly off Harry's MINI as we left the rest stop.  Plus there were more to be seen when we stopped at the Cotton Gin.

The food variety was good, but there were no soft-shell crabs to be found.  Mom was disappointed.   icon_sad  As for me, seafood is still an acquired taste.  I tried the lobster tail; that was really good!   023  I also tried the crab legs; that's going to take me awhile to get used to.   icon_neutral

After we split up, mom and I headed to Bodie Island.  As previously mentioned to us, it's definitely under construction.  Kinda weird seeing scaffolding around it.  But I wanted to get in a couple of good pics in front of a lighthouse, so we headed down to Cape Hatteras.  That's only the second time I've ever been down that far.  It was worth it.   icon_cool

Stop by the Photo Gallery to see some photos I snapped.

Long ride to the Hatteras Light , wasn't it ?  Guessing you probably killed a lot of bugs on your way back from Hatteras.
Impressive scaffolding at the Bodie Island Light, wasn't it ?  Kathy and I were down there just over a week before, and stayed for a week. We have rented the same house for several years now, and can see the Bodie Island Light from the rental house.
That's how I knew the Light was undergoing a renovation. We saw you turn right toward the Bodie Light, just as we were turning left to Coquino Beach.  After eating too much at Jimmy's, we really enjoyed just vegging out on the beach at Coquino
for a couple of hours. The water temp was 75 deg. VERY NICE !!!

Sorry to have missed this one, sounds like it was a good time and the beach and seafood are right up my alley .. but it'da been a loooong commute from New Hampshire :-)

Sounds like it was a smashing success which means I can count on it being on the schedule again sometime? And I'll try and recruit a few of the Tar Heeler's too ...
