Has anyone ever given any thought to finding a sister club in the UK? there are lots of clubs over there. The Tar Heel gang brought this up the other day. I was talking about just such a thing at the Pub a couple of weeks ago also. Might be kinda cool. Any thoughts?

I think that'd be awesome!

Don't be offended if your replys come back somewhat negative from the UK.

Those folks, even though they have employment from BMW building are lovely little MINI's, still hold some hostility toward the new MINI.

Long story short, it may take some serious effort to find a sister club in the UK.

Not a bad idea though. 038

Actually, there are more than a handful of MINI clubs catering to the "new" MINI in the UK. Though the classics do still have a good foothold in the club scene. The magazine Modern MINI is full of great club activities over there. It's an expensive subscription, but it gives you a great insight into their views of the MINI. They are far more into the show scene. While they do a fair amount of "drives" it doesn't seem like they're as spirited as some of ours in the states.

When it comes to driving, eating, partying, big meets, L2B, or any "Big Mini Event", the UK crowd shows up by the hundreds, if not thousands, in Classic Mini's.

I've got a couple Modern MINI issues around the house, and yes, performance and shows would probably be there 1st priorities. Buying this off the shelf at $10.95/issue could be a bit of a strain, subs are probably near $150. or more/year? I used to get a sub of MINI WORLD, but had to let that run out when it approached $198./year. 103 I can't justify that much for reading material that hasn't got at least something naked in it  PopcornEmoticon

The fund raising events are so well covered in MINI WORLD (Classics) I believe the new MINI crowd is more into a completely different avenue. That said, looking for a sister club is still a capitol idea. I'd be very interested to see who would like to become family with us yanks.

When I attended MiniUnited09, I met a bunch of members from the Kent and East Sussex Mini Club (http://www.kaesminiclub.com/). We hung out a lot at the local pub and they seem to be vary active thru out Europe.
