I just booked a cruise for Dave and I to see the fireworks from the Miss Hampton tour boat.  This is the first year we are doing so, I tried last year, but they were booked.   PopcornEmoticon

I thought I would post this just in case anyone wants to come along for the adventure.  102
If you do want to come, book your reservation early, this cruise tends to sell out quickly.

Miss Hampton July 4th Fireworks Cruise
Cost is $45.00 paid in advance when making reservation by Visa or MC
Cost includes DJ and light snacks (chips and peanuts).  A bar is available for beverage purchase.

Miss Hampton II Cruises

If you come, do not park in the parking deck next to the Radison because it is the only place in town you pay to park.  Park anywhere else including the other parking decks.  Everything else in town is free.

Anyone know anyone who has done this before? I love a good fireworks show .. some friends took a cruise to Hawaii over the 4th one year .. I thought "who would want to go to Hawaii in July, I want to go when it is COLD in NC!" but the photos I saw of the fireworks on the island from the boat were amazing .. have thought watching fireworks from a boat would be cool ever since ..

Haven't called to see if there happens to still be space available yet, would really love to hear a first hand review since it would be a long drive .. anybody?

The weather was perfect and the fireworks were beautiful.  That boat ride sure beat finding parking and beating the crowds to watch from the grass somewhere.  This is a two level tour boat.  There was a bar serving frozen pina coladas and strawberry daquaries.  DJ and dancing going on down stairs.  We enjoyed the ride and the sites of all the lights on along the coast lines as we cruised along.  Very nice.

I went with a friend to watch the fireworks from Scott's Creek in Portsmouth.  Afterward, we stopped by Joy's Marina right across from the parking garage for a while to visit with some fellow sailboaters.  I had forgotten how NOISY that boat is.   120  We could hear the music as you all rounded the shores next to Hampton University.  Just seemed to loud to me.

The music was too loud on the lower deck. The DJ really had the volume cranked up. We were on the upper deck, so it wasn't too bad. It was quite a party ! I'm sure there were many bad heads out there on Monday morning, as adult beverages were consumed in massive quantities  103
