Cooper Vineyards wants to advertise rally meeting points on their web site.  It is free advertising for us!!   I need leaders from different areas please.  I'll try to build us a little flyer on MSWord.  I am not sure how to post it yet.  But if you use the message section of this board and tell me you want the file, I can e-mail it to you as soon as I have it ready.

Here is how it works...

Cooper Vineyards opens at 11am.  We all want to get there around that time so the vineyards can stage our parking for us (they are really good at that).  There are two options we have been using.  Drive directly to the vineyard or take part in the curvy run we have been doing for years to get there.
Curvy run start time 9:30 at Brusters Ice Cream on Staples Mill Road. Plan to be there by 9

So post a starting time and place so you can arrive at Bruster's by 9am or the Vineyards at 11am.

Suggested start points - I need volunteers with landmark, full address and wheels up time.

Crown Mini of Richmond , Broad Street Richmond,  wheels up 8:45am directly to Brusters Mike74JCW
Cracker Barrel at Power Plant Parkway in Hampton 7:30 wheels up, directly to Brusters.  Plan to be there at 7am SKARGO leader
Williamsburg
Southside/Va Beach Sears Parking lot - on Witchduck road next to 295. Wheels up 6:30 then meeting at Cracker Barrel Group  HANKFRAM leader
Smithfield Station on Church Street  Wheels up 6:45 then meeting at Cracker Barrel - Baby BMW
DC area
NC area
Name your own!!!

Don't feel shy about leading a group.  We all like to follow and we are all forgiving of messing up.  Messing up usually makes for better stories by the way.  It is fun to have a long line of MINIs following you.  If you plan to come, especially from a distance, post a starting landmark with full address and wheels up time.  Wheels up means you are telling people to be there in time to leave. (Experience has told me to give yourself an extra 1/2 hour cause no one seems to get there on time)(If you find you are ahead of schedule you can always go shopping at the Cotton Gin - Jimmy's Buffet group!)  If no one shows up, just come on way anyway.  Note you may want to plan your route to meet up with another group along the way.  The object is to get there, so don't plan fun drives that might hold you up.

You can use Google Maps or Mapquest to plan the timing of your drives.

Do I have my first leader?!  Tell me a starting time.  Might want to determine that after the Cracker Barrel time is determined.  I believe the address is the Old Blooms Parking Lot at Va Beach Blvd and Wichduck road?  Is that what you had in mind?

I replied to an email from Jacque at the vineyard today. I told her we 're doing the drive over from Bruster's Ice Cream. You're times are spot on. Wheels up from Bruster's is 9:30 sharp.

If we can get several groups to meet up at Bruster's it'll be easy. If y'all do the "sub-drives" to Bruster's, I'll go up early and get things set up and be ready when everyone arrives.

Dale, Kathy and I can handle the Penninsula group, so no worries there.
Hankfrum. Thanks for stepping up !  If you can arrange a meeting place and wheels up departure time from the Southside, that would be GREAT !  Plan to meet our Penninsula group at the Cracker Barrel, corner of Mercury Blvd. and Power Plant Parkway at a time we will set in the near future. We need to leave Hampton in time to reach Brewsters in Richmond by no later than 9am. It's going to be a LONG day. More to follow soon.

One quick thing to remember when planning a drive. When entering a highway or street, make sure your lot is situated so you don't need to cross traffic. Right hand turns are easier and makes for entering highways better. Get someone to go out at another exit of the lot and stop traffic. Works like a champ!

If memory serves me right, we did a wheel sup at 8 from Hampton and it didn't give us enough time, in my opinion, before we headed out from Brusters. I might suggest being on the road from Hampton's Cracker Barrel by 7:30/7:45. If y'all head this route up, I'll shoot straight up to Bruster's and be a welcoming committee for the early arrivals.

Dave's bang on with the long day. Especially if it's hot. Bring sun screen and light clothes. Bring snacks and drinks. I'm not sure if the EZ up will fit into the Clubbie, but shade is always a plus at Cooper.

Some of the DC guys did overnight last year west of Richmond. We can certainly entertain that idea, Especially if a Wheelie is involved! Hell, I need a nap after one of those alone!

2FUN4ME, thanks for the PM!  I would be happy to lead the group from Crown MINI to Bruster's (only a couple of miles).

Sounds great.  Pick a time for your wheels up to meet the group at Brusters no later than 9am.

Has anyone been in touch with Crown MINI to see if they are promoting this?  If not, perhaps you can let them know you are planning a takeoff point from their location and they can publicize it for you.

Ya might wanna check with the DC Metro MINI group. I know a lot of them are coming down, but I'm not too sure how many are coming down for the drive over.

BTW, we're going to be headed your way later this year for a run up to the Pub in Fredericksburg. We have a group dinner on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays at their sister location down here in Hampton.

Drive Planning.... All set up drives that I know of are on the first blog of this thread.  I am updating them as I hear of them.

Bottom line is for everyone to arrive at Bruster's in Richmond for wheels up at 9:30  if you want the fun drive.  Otherwise directly to the Vineyard's opening at 11am.
