Hey Guys,  Snooter (from the MOTD) here with a non-MINI related question. The Mrs. and I were thinking of visiting Colonial Williamsburg for our 20th Anniversary in March.  We thought we heard that alot of the shops and exhibits have been closed down due to the economy.  Anyone been there lately?  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Snooter, being a resident of Wmsbg, and knowing many people whom are still employed by the various businesses here, Williamsburg is still going strong.  If you have an idea of any attractions, shopping, resturants etc. just pm me and I will be more than happy to get you the info you need.   There are many attractions in the Colonial section of Wiliamsburg along with Busch Gardens and Water Country but they won't be operating that early in the year.  Prime outlets is a big draw and many resturants to choose from.  Herb

I think you'd iike Colonial Williamsburg. Don't forget Yorktown and Jamestown too. Just bring comfortable shoes. Lots of great restaurants. I like the Whaling Company, myself. Don't miss the Yankee Candle Factory store. March is a good time. You'll miss some of the attractions might be closed still, but you'll miss the tourists!

Make sure we know, we don't need much of an excuse to have a Get Together!

Thanks for the replies so far. We have been to Colonial Williamsburg two or three times around Christmas time while the kids where younger.  We both really enjoyed it. I love watchin the artisans demostrate their crafts and was concerned if they have scaled back on that or not.

Snooter, I've just spoken to a friend whom just retired from Colonial Williamsburg (CW) within the last month and was informed that yes the artisans are still doing their thing.  I will have more detailed info within a few hours.  You can also go to www.Colonial Williamsburg.org.
