Too much for too little = scam nearly 100% of the time. Thank heaven for common sense, but remember, there couldn't be scammers without scammees. If someone gets taken, it's usually always a result of their own ignorance. It's up to the smart folks to create laws to protect these simple minded folks when the law of common sense is absent, right?

Sure you can get your deposit back, but you need to help them save their great uncles fortune from being stolen by the Nigerian Government. So, if you send them an additional $5000, they will give you $500,000 when the check clears next week. Sounds legit to me.

Yeah, I got a lot of those types of emails from scammers on Craigslist while trying to sell my 06 JCW  . They were funny, yet annoying at the same time  |

I followed up on a Craig's list ad for a Land Cruiser... the ad said the LC was in NC.... I wanted to see the LC, but due to an ugly divorce the LC was in MONTANA awaiting shipment to the prospective buyer. The seller wanted to use "Yahoo Finance" as the escrow agent for the sales price and he would ship me the LC. I would then inspect the LC and if I didn't want it, I would ship it back at THEIR cost and "Yahoo Finance" would give me my money back.
Now... has anyone ever priced shipping a Land Cruiser from Montana to VB....... and back??

Okay, the poor thing is getting a divorce and needs to sell it. But for some reason, she (and I highly doubt it's a she) still won't divulge details. Could it be because she doesn't even own the car? Here's the latest reply.

Okay, that sounds great. Sorry to hear about the divorce. May God help mend your heart. But, as I'm sure you can understand, I'm wondering about the options the car has. One of the biggest is the cold weather package that includes the heated seats. Being in Idaho, it probably has that I'd guess. Also how about the sport package as well as the convenience package. Not that it matters to me, but my daughter, who really loves this car, is still wondering if it's an automatic or a 6 speed.
How long do you think shipping from Idaho to Virginia will take. I'd even be willing to help out with the shipping.
How long have you owned the car? Also does it have the heated steering wheel and shift knob? I have another MINI she's interested locally, but it's a few thousand more. And since she has the money in her account to buy that one now, I'm trying to have her hold off, for your red car instead of the lime green one here locally.

Ashlyn's latest reply. Still no info on the car. No options or info of any sort. Working on a reply now. Might have to get a bit angry.
The protection works like this:
1. I will contact eBay and give all the info about this deal.
2. They will email us the forms which are needed for our deal.
3. I will send the car to your location and you will send the money at eBay.
4. After you will inspect the car and decide to keep it, eBay will forward the funds to me.
After starting up the transaction at eBay, my money which are deposited in their safe account will be blocked untill the end of the deal, so I won't be able to withdraw them until we've finished the deal.
After the payment is made eBay will send you the car for inspection along with all the documents( title, a bill of sale). The car will arrive in maximum 3 days at your address. You will have 7 days test period to decide if you keep the car or not. I will put along with the car: keys, title, all the receipts that I have from it, owner's manual, service manual, and also a bill of sale stating that I'm selling you this car.
With this bill of sale you can put the title on your name.If you want to keep the car, you announce them that you have it and that you keep the car ONLY THEN eBay Escrow will release me the money. If you don't want to keep it, you will send it back to eBay and i will support the shipping back fees (but I'm sure is not the case the car is in perfect condition) and eBay will refund you the deposit.
Let me know if this is OK with so we can move forward with this deal.
In order to begin the deal please send me your full name and your shipping address so that I will let eBay know that you are interested.
As soon as I have them I'll start the official procedure and eBay will notify you about this. You'll also receive important guidelines + instructions from them (please go through them exactly).
Also, a refund policy will be included.

Here we go. Only worried about Tyler wanting his Corvette or either of them wondering about that missing sister. Ashlyn, my dear, I'm starting to worry. I've asked a couple of times now about the options. Mostly the transmission. Does the car have a 6 speed or an automatic? What other packages does it have? I'm interested in your car very much, but I need answers. My daughter is still very interested as well. As far as Ebay VPP goes, I'm very familiar with them. In fact I bought her brothers Corvette and her sisters Porsche through Ebay. In fact my company has purchased 8 vehicles through Ebay in the last 18 months. My service business has 25 vehicles, so I buy a lot of vehicles. So what options does this car have? I'm ready to spend money, but I need answers. I'm sure you understand. Thanks, Dale |

Nah She/He must have tired of me. I tried to rile them up with my email, but even that didn't work. I hate when I get ignored. I may try again sometime. I do see Craigslist now has a disclaimer about shipping be fraudulent. I took an hour out Sunday and searched all MINI ads from PA to SC. It's amazing how many areas have the same MINI ad posted. I tagged everyone one of them for fraud/scam. Hope that helps.

Since I haven't heard from you, I guess you got tired of me. And since we both know you don't actually own this car, or any car for that matter, I guess you moved on to scamming other unsuspecting people. By the way, the car is going to be shipped is a dumb way to try to cheat people out of their money. While we're at it, you know Ebay doesn't cover transactions on Craigslist. But you know that, because you aren't trying to sell anything anyway. You're just sitting on your lazy butt trying to cheat unsuspecting people out of their money. One of these days you'll end up rotting in Hell. Until then I hope your life continues to be as miserable as it is now.
