Okay, 4800 bucks for an 06 Cabrio seems a little cheap to me. Lets see what Ashlyn has to say about the car. I'll keep y'all updated. Nah, just baiting a scammer. Of course, Lime Green would be nice!
So far, her response seems okay. Nothing out of the ordinary. It's amazing they always seem to stress title in hand and leave out the options. That's because they don't own the car. They just grab the pics from the net somewhere. Noticed I asked about seeing the car, but she didn't even mention that. Here's my reply:
Hey Ashlyn,
That's a great looking car! The Daughter is very much in love with that MINI. I should be in Delaware next Monday, I'd love to stop by and see it. I can bring a cashier's check with me or cash if you prefer. Tell me, is it an automatic or 5 speed. What options does it have? I'm really very anxious to see the car!

They almost always end with "Sorry the car is sold" when it comes time to see it. Ive done it a couple of times outta fun to see wht would happen.

As anyone who has ever listed an item for sale on Craigslist will attest, there are just as many, or more, scammers on the buyers end of the deal. I recently listed and sold a hot tub on the Norfolk area Craigslist. I had scammers emailing me every day for weeks claiming they wanted the item for full price...without asking one question, requesting any photo's or coming to the house to see it. It's sickening to think how many idiot scammers are out there messing with unsuspecting people.

And graigslist FLAGGED the site too. I actually went to each Craigs list site from PA down to Georgia, did a search for MINI's ranging from $5 to $5000. Amazingly enough, the sames ones popped up time after time, city after city, so I flagged them as Spam. Didn't take long and hopefully I helped so unsuspecting potential MINI buyer from getting taken. Then again greed kicks in and like Momma always said,"If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". For those people, they're fair game! |
