Love my new MINI

As most of you know I love to take my HB '06 to the track a lot. I bought new Falken Azenis and was having them mounted on my 5 spoke enkie's. One of the wheels had a crack in it so I couldn't us it. Dale was nice enough to loan me one of Tyler's old wheels so I would not have to cancel my event.

Now it's time to replace the wheel and I can not find any of the same ones. So my question is what do you think is the best wheel for street/track events. I will leave these wheels on the MINI all the time. They have to be 17's and light weight. The weight doesn't matter for my track speed but for me. I don't like changing brake pads with a really heavy wheel & tire. The tires are heavy enough.

Any suggestions, comment... would be appreciated.  115

Thanks,
Lelane

Either check out Mach V motorsports p in DC ( http://www.fastmini.net/wheels.html ) or maybe the new wheels the Moss guys were talking about from NM engineering. They're a little pricey, but light.

If you go with Tire Rack, let me know. I might be able to save you a few bucks.

I second Dan at MachV Motorsports. I bought Rota Torques in 17x7.5 from him.

You're gonna get overwhelmed, but spend a good amount of time hunting.  Here are some sites to try out.  Most of them are muli-brand locations.  If you really want unique, you should have no problem finding a set in these links below.  Some sites may be similar (i.e. they go by several names).

The Enkei PF01s look really sweet.

My Favorites:
- The Wheel Connection; tons of brand categories; takes awhile to through all of them but worth it
- Discounted Wheel Warehouse
- Wheels Direct
- DNJ Wheels
- The Deal on Wheels; search by car is broke; you'll have to search by brand
- Performance Plus Tire
- The Wheel Guy
- Wheels Next
- Super Buy Tires
- Victoria Tire and Wheel

Others:
- Tire Rack
- Wheel Fire
- Wheel Warehouse
- Big Wheels
- KX Wheels
- Ultra Wheel Company
- Centerline Wheels
- Discount Tire Direct
- Wheels for Less

Specs:
- Lug pattern:  4x100mm; same as older Honda Civics
- Size:  17x7
- Offset: 40-48mm
- Suggest Weight:  < 16 lbs. each; you can find some as low as 13.8 lbs. each
- One site offered an option of before or after 5/06 production date; include this in the additional notes field when you place your order

Stock rim comparisons:
- NAM - Wheel and Tire Specs
- MINI2 Forum - FAQ Wheels and Tires

Here's a site to help with wheel weight.

Lightweight 17x7 wheels I have found so far (weight may be +/- .2 lbs.).  Yeah, a couple might be over 16 lbs.

- Enkei PF01, 15.6 lbs.
- Enkei RPF1, 15.0 lbs.
- Konig Featherlite, 17.2 lbs.
- Kosei K1 TS, 13.9 lbs.
- Motegi Racing SP10, 16.8 lbs.
- O.Z. Alleggerita HLT, 14.0 lbs.
- O.Z. Ultraleggera, 16.0 lbs.
- TSW Trackster 4, 18.0 lbs.

I really like the Kosei but they are expensive. I like the Enkie's too. I love the shinny look but don't like to clean them. LOL
