The seat of the pants (otherwise known as the Butt Dyno) is the payoff.

I agree with you Dale.  If you make a mod and it makes you feel good, it was worth it!!

I was doing some more research today as to what variables can affect dyno runs.  On the part of having lighter wheels (unsprung weight), I found this thread that provides some insight into a related matter.  As I suspected, one factor that can affect your dyno run is how hard your vehicle is ratcheted down.  While this probably does not make a big difference on larger muscle cars with 400-500+ HP engines, this could be the difference with smaller HP engines, such as the ones in our MINIs.  My only conclusion on this was there were quite a few cars to be dynoed in a shorter period of time than usual at their shop.

Hello,

Dan, that's why I want to go to the Dynapack setup.  That seems to be the preferred one on NAM.  I feel my results on that would be more comparative.

I'm a bit late to this.  But I see you're in Newport News.  Custom Car Care in Yorktown (near 17 and Victory Blvd) has a Dynapack.  Speak to Brady when you call.  I like the Dynapack, not because it may or may not read optimistically, but because the results are repeatable and are not swayed by tire pressure, tiedown strap tension, etc.  I'm very confident each mod I've dyno tested provided measurable results due to the consistency of the Dynapack.  I even found a mod that was NOT effective and dyno-proved that, too.   102

Take Care,

Scott

We've used Brady's dyno before on the race cars. Brady know's what he's doing with the dyno.

Take Care,

Scott
