Hello everyone,

We will be moving to Newport News area in the middle of December. Depends on the drive from San Diego - Newport News. We won't start our drive till December 04 but will be making pit stops. We won't be driving Saja, it'll be on a boat ride from Hawaii slowly making it's way to Newport News. Looking forward to meeting you all. We bought our first Mini in 2007. We got a used 2005 Cooper S and recently we traded it in for the new 2011 S Model.

Can't wait to meet ya all.  When you get here, if you don't see anything else, we do get together at "The Pub" in Hampton twice a month.  2nd and 4th wednesdays.

Thanks everyone! Definitely looking forward to hopefully make it out to the Pub get together when we get to VA in December. Definitely need to do some house hunting though first. Looking forward to meeting a group like this. Driving around in Hawaii doesn't feel as welcoming as this group. We only get a few who do wave back in the Mini and a few who give us funny looks.

BabyBMW did you drive from CA-VA ? How was the drive?

When I was station in the Bay area I made the trip 7 times. That was back in the late 70's. Its a great drive, do as much sight seeing as you can on the trip across. 023

Yeah, the sightseeing is the fun part.  The hard part is making up your mind what you actually want to see along the way.

Wow 7 times. This will be our first road trip from West Coast to East Coast and we are trying to figure what stops we can make with the allotted time we have. Definitely going to visit the Grand Canyon and maybe Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, TX.

They weren't done in a MINI either. How about a Datsun 240Z and 510 Wagon. Your right about so much to see. 103
