THIS GIFT DRIVE IS TO HELP LESS FORTUNATE FAMILIES ON SATURDAY 12/18/10 @ 11AM... We will be collecting the gifts for Judeo Christian Outreach Center who will distribute the items to less fortunate families in the Hampton Roads Area. The plan is to collect through donations new toys, clothing, & non-perishble food items and fill up as many Mini's as we can! Its a fun way to help our community for the Holidays... THANK YOU!

David Silvestri is sponsoring this event.   100

What a great experience. David, Dan and Tiffany , Cathy , Elaine and Steve, Curt and Denisa, and Lelane spent most of Saturday trying to raise money and presents for the Judeo Christian Outreach Center. We raised $42.00  by standing on the street corner waving signs. We took the money and went to Big Lots to buy toys to complete the haul we had in our Minis. It was so cool to drive up to the Outreach Center to share our goodies with those less fortunate. Each of us has so much to be thankful for. It was hard to see families with children standing in line at the soup kitchen. Steve and I plan to go through our closets and make another trip out there with coats, clothing, and shoes.

Like many of our Mini runs, this one ended up as a two part event. We just had to go to Checkered Flag to see the Countryman. Steve, Cathy, and I took a test drive. We even ran into other HR Mini folks at the dealership.

Very good for everyone that attended. Sorry I couldn't make it.

I make a vote now, that we make this a scheduled event next year! December is usually a little slow for events, so we could really rock this!

Imagine if you saved up all the goodwill stuff you might normally put asside at your house and gave it all to this one center next December.  Those items would go directly into the hands of those who need it.  If you saw the faces of the people waiting in line for a meal it would make all the difference to you.  People just like you and me who are having a difficult period.  I know we made some people very happy.

I agree we should make it a scheduled event next year! But next year we could probably benefit from a busier location.
