Kathy speaks the truth!

Please come to this run. It's a good way to meet new people and, well, lets not forget the FOOD as well! It's awesome.

Plan to hang around down at the Outer Banks for a while. There's lots to do whether you head to the malls or the beach.

Don't forget to remember when to say when. I walked, more like waddled out, last year!

Also, Kathy, I think the tolls are $6 EACH WAY on the weekends.

Yes, I believe that Dale is correct about the higher tolls on the weekend.  I still recommend taking the last exit before tolls, it will loop you around under the expressway and past a Home Depot.  Turn right on Battlefield Blvd there.  It returns to the expressway about 5-10 miles down the road and only adds about 5 minutes to the overall trip.  Saves the tolls with minimal time expenditure.

The exit will be the 2nd Hillcrest pkwy.  The first one takes you thru the Target parking lot and can be a pain.  The 2nd Hillcrest pkwy exit will have the yellow band on the sign that says last exit before toll.

Have fun everyone!

We will be planning to go around the toll booth so there will be no toll at all.

Yes, I comprehended that when I read the posts.   023

I was reposting the link I had shared earlier because it seemed there was still some confusion concerning whether the toll had really increased to $6.00 one way or not.

Yup, I'm the only one confused.   017  I read the article and was charged only 3 dollars on Memorial Day Weekend, but the state must not have considered that summertime yet (even though I like to think so).  icon_smile

Review the very first post if you want the exact addresses for Jimmy's and Food Lion for your GPS usage.

If you are interested in putting the route in your GPS, There is likely an option to avoid toll roads.  Select that and it likely comes up with the same route my Google Maps does.

I ate entirely too much today. Tried not to, but was fairly unsuccessful.

It was really great seeing so many first timers on the run. I've never seen newbies outnumber veterans by such a large amount. We must be doing something right.

Don't forget to post up your pics asap! I'll get mine done as soon as I can figure out how! Dang new camera!
