Hey Group, welcome TATTRAT to the club. Jono is from Northern VA and is also a member of DC Metro. Hopefully we can get together when you're down here in Hampton Roads.

Thanks, all!!

Yeah, I am in NoVA now, via way of Honolulu, but spent years in VB, opened my first 3 restaurants there(Riagatonis, One Eyed Jacks, and Wisteria) and my mom and dad are still in the area. I don't make it down near as often as I like(an mom is quick to point that out)but after a couple of "quick trips" turning into 8hour epics, it just left a bad taste in my mouth, and a SORE clutch knee!

I am going to be down there the weekend of the 26th, if there is anything going on, I will be sure to try and make it!!

I am the Proud owner of a 2003 R53 DS, and LOVE LOVE LOVE MY go cart for grown ups!! 15%, CAI, and upgraded coils for now. Once warm weather is here to stay, I will do suspension work.

Here is Li'ili' Ka'a

Thanks for having me, I look forward to more MINI people, and meeting some of the board!

Okay, my interest is piqued, I take it you were in the restaurant business. Are ya still involved? My kid (also a MINI owner) went to school at Johnson & Wales for Culinary and Nutrition. I remember Wisteria and One Eyed Jacks.

As for the 26th, if nothing is going on as of the moment, we need to come up with something!

Welcome, I think I've seen that MINI somewhere or seen pictures of it before.

Ohhhhhhh, I am so sorry! lol, nah, what J&W? Was it when the Norfolk Campus was still up and running?

I am still in the bizz, just got smart and decided to work for someone else and get a paycheck. I am a CORP. Exec Chef, and oversee/implement culinary standards/provide support for 9 units in DC and 1 in Philly(where I was today, GOD what a commute). Just got the new United States Institute of Peace Building, and Krull Mooring, so I can add 2 to the roster.

Wisteria was pretty well regarded, and was my fave. Had a LOT of fun, but the Pleasure House locations was plagued, and after 3 years,  you have to know when to say when. OEJ, now Baja Cantina/Mai Bar is the same low brow, Cali-Mex, Fish Taco house on the strip. Does really well, and I am SURE it keeps Collen more than busy.

He actually got his Culinary degree at the Charlotte campus then transferred to the Providence, RI campus for his Nutritional degree. After a screw up scheduling his senior externship he is taking some time off from school and is working full time at Disney World in entertainment. He's cooked down there the last three summers as well as having done his Freshman externship. Last summer he was at Victoria & Albert's at the Grand Floridian Resort. Hopefully he'll get back into the kitchen one day, right now he's enjoying the break. Though he was on Food Network's 24 restaurant challenge, which was pretty cool.

I know what ya mean about working for someone else. We own the Maaco Collision Repair & Auto Painting center in Hampton. Some day's I'd love to just walk away, but I know I gotta come back tomorrow!
