For those of you on the Peninsula, lets meet up at Huntington Park at the foot of the James River Bridge at 4PM. Capt. Chuck-A-Muck is pretty easy to get to IF ya know where to look. I'll be at the park at and ready to LEAVE AT 4 PM SHARP! That'll give us plenty of time to hang out at the Captian's place before dinner.

Have be3en told by my personal scheduling assistant that departure time from the park has been moved back to 4:30 PM. We may be the only ones there, but 4:30 is the time!

Great dinner and even better company. It was good to see my Mini friends. I even drank Jet Fuel! If you want a quiet evening on the water, Captain Chuck-A-Muck's is the place to be. Thanks Dave Roberts for coordinating this month's dinner. |

Absolutely awesome place! Great food, great location, great service! If you're looking for food and a really neat location, Capt. Chuck-A-Muck is the place!
Beware of the jet fuel though! It's pretty strong fer sure!

Thanks to all that came out last Sunday. I hope everyone had a good time, and the "jet fuel" was good to all that tried it :-)
I thought the two girls serving us did a good job, the food was good, and it was nice to be able to move around on the deck and visit with everyone. I know it was a bit too hot for those that were seated in the sun. Sorry. The plan was to have the "Captains Table" inside, but that didn't work out for us. Cris (Mrs. Muck) has apologized to me for that mix up. That said, it was my call to sit outside on the deck, v/s inside. So. sorry for those that sweated and were too hot outside. My bad.
I have been in touch with Cris since last Sunday. She is very nice and is hoping that we were not turned off and will come again. I told her that we would be back, and hope all that were there would agree with that.
For those of you that long for something on your side of the HRBT, I say, go for it. A couple of emails and or phone calls to your fav. place will get it done. Remember our motto. "If you plan it, we will come" !

Two points need to be made in relation to what Dave said. We hear all the time that southside MINI owners want something over there. We agree, we'd love to see more things on the southside. In fact our buddy Harry is working on some things now. BUT, we'd be glad to help anyone organize a dinner. PLEASE feel free to ask Kathy or myself if you'd like any pointers. It's really much easier than you think. Most of the restaurants bend over backwards to get a group like us! Now, I need to apologize to the family with the Countryman. They showed up just after we were seated outside. We didn't have any open tables and they sat inside. Granted they had two small, very handsome, young fellas with them, so inside was probably a smarter idea. But I think we could have went a lot further in making them feel welcome to a HR MINI function. I'll blame it on the "jet fuel" because we really are friendly and out going. I never want anyone to feel like we are a "clique" type of club. I wasn't very happy on the way home, because I felt like we might have left the wrong impression with them. I deeply hope we didn't turn them off to the HR MINI group and very much hope they'll come back to another one of our events soon! And while we're on the subject of Capt. Chuck-A-Muck's, when are we going back?!  |

Nicely said Dale ! I also felt bad that Martha and her family were sort of left out of joining in the group dinner by having to be seated inside while the rest of us were outside on the deck. This was their first event get-together with our HRMINI group, and I hope it won't be their last because of the seating situation at the dinner this past Sunday !
To Martha and family........This situation was not our normal arrangement, and was our first group visit to Capt. Chuck-a Mucks
I arranged this dinner myself, and so I want to personally apologize to you and your family for you being separated from the rest of our group during this dinner. I really hope you will give us a second chance and come out again to another of our events and get to know us better. We were supposed to all be seated together inside last Sunday, but the managers at the place kind of dropped the ball. Maybe they didn't take me seriously as I communicated with them about the number of people that the HRMINI Club would be bringing to their establishment last Sunday evening. The owners wife has apologized to me for the mixup profusely and I am sure if we go back we will be treated as if we were royalty !
It was great to meet you on Sunday, and thanks for coming out !!! Looking forward to seeing you and the family again at some event very soon, and having some time to check out that new Mini that you have !
