I am a new "mini-owner", and new to this website. Am going to try to make the Wednesday night dinner, what is the usual protocol? Meet in the parking lot, hang around talking about how great mini's are, then eat?? Any info would be appreciated!

It's always great to catch up with mini friends and talk cars. The Southside group REALLY appreciated the Hampton side coming over. I would suggest another place for next time. If we can do another meet up next month I will plan it! Hell I'll go early and sit with cones and rope to save parking spots for us. I think the allure for me is parking together so others can drive by and see our cars (and drool). We have a great place called Finn McCools at Landstown Commons. It has a big parking area to display our cars. It is a very busy shopping area so many many people will have to drive right past the cars as they go on their way. They have an outdoor/indoor area and I'm sure Wednesday is their slow night so I can set something up. Christina

Had fun last night at Conklin's. The "new" place seems to be quite a bit smaller that the old location. The food and company were terrific. The only down side for us was maintence in the HRBT tube on the way home. Down to one lane, and a long backup. The East bound side was OK. Really nice to see people that can't make it to the Hampton get together and some new faces as well

I think if Christina can set something up at Finn McCools, that would be an awesome location for Southside meets! They have an awesome location and some really great food! I guess I have never been that over impressed with Conklins anyway though. Can't wait to get back to civilization and a Mini meet here and there.

Remember, it's really easy to set up a dinner meet or an ice cream run. Just call the restaurant and tell em what ya need. They'll usually bend over backwards to help! Just ask Kathy or myself for advice if you'd like to set something up.

It was awesome to meet everyone and see folks again at Conklins!!!
I'm all for a regular southside gather. Sadly the ones on the peninsula are just not easy for me to attend, so I miss more than I can get to.
Finn McCools would be great, in many ways. There is also a Skinny Dip (frozen yogurt) across the parking lot from them! There was some conversation about finding somewhere closer to the northern end of Virginia Beach for easier access for the peninsula folks. I'm not sure what really would work between the Pembroke & Military Circle areas. Silver Diner comes to mind, as do a few of the more chain style restaurants going up the Blvd. That said, tho, I think Finn McCools would be awesome to try for the next one!! Great parking area, great exposure, good stores near by if needed (there is an AWESOME store right next to them called The Sauce Shop that has the greatest selection of hot sauces & such). The only draw back I would see is that it IS very much south side Va. Beach.

I want to Thank Harry and Brian for setting this up. It is great to have a meeting in Southside.
Conklins did a very nice job of feeding us, the food was delicious and it was quiet enough to have a conversation. We did pretty much fill the place with 18 people.
I put a little poll out on Face Book. HRMINI Conquors the World If people are not happy with Conklins and want to try out something new, I say we go for it. Perhaps we can keep trying until we find a home base in Southside.
For that matter the Hampton Pub can change too if people are not happy with it. All options are open.

I attempted to make the meet at Conklins Wed but no such luck. Left home early to beat the traffic from Williamsburg to VB but every highway, road, bike path, etc, had a total shut down or vehicle breakdown blocking all lanes between here and there in multiple locations!!!!

A good location for the Pembroke area would be Keegans in Town Center. But parking kinda stinks compared to somewhere like Finn McCools.
