i just ordered some coil-overs and realized that they didn't come with the perch wrenches. Is there anyone with some just laying around that I may put to use? You would be rewarded for your kind deed. (By that I mean "cash" and the satisfaction of helping a MINI drop it low)

i bought some vmaxx's that should be here by the end of the week and talked to the dealer about the spring rates. He said that they don't publish those rates, which would have been nice to know before the buy. However, i've looked at other forums and and they rate the ride to that of the original, but a bit stiffer.

kk Reason i ask was to know how to set them for around here.. Knowing the stroke and spring rates help with that. especially if you want track or street settings. .. The Factory suggestion dont always work. Just ask Sneezy

based on one guy's research. he did the rough math and thought that they were 225-230 lbs/inch. i have no idea what the rates for stock are

I took a quick look into them after i posted. . they appear to be a Progressive rate spring set. which makes it hard to post a specific number. Now its been a year to 3 since i made the trek to the Hampton area, Last time the bumps and pot holes where just awful. only thing at this time i would suggest is doing no more than 1 inch drop on the front and 1 1/2 inch drop on the back Max for right now. Reason being that with that drop depending on the rims and tires you may run into where the tire (mainly the rear) can come up and hit your fender molding, but this also depending on the style of driving you do. on a side note i still have a set of Camber / Caster plates off my 03 mini lying around collecting dust.

yeah. the guy did an average estimate from free height to compressed and came up with that number. its just an starting number i suppose. anyway, i hear you on the environmental hazards of Hampton Roads. Apart from all the construction and craters around here, the flooding is notorious. just today, i passed a mustang that looked like he hydro-locked. it was his fault for balling through hampton blvd. i guess he thought his huge wing would fly him over the three feet of overflow. but that is for a different thread. but more importantly, i'm interested in those camber plates. whats the 411?

these are Camber caster plates by Nolan.. but for some reason i cant find a reference to them any more online. I'll see about grabbing them out of the garage and posting a pix of them so you can have a look. Also see if i can make sure of the name. I've kept them assembled on a set of 05 shocks with the Racing Dynamic lowering springs for the 03. That way someone could see how they went together and all the parts are there. Basic is it allows free floating range of the front shock in both Camber and Caster, but depending on the spring size just how much is allowed. it can work with any spring size is how its designed. With the Lowering spring i had there were the Stock Diameter and would only allow +/- 2 degrees. With the Coil overs you getting you should get up to 3 degrees. ok got them out of the garage.. now tring to figure out how to get the pics off my phone (drawiing blank). The name of these plates are Noltec. Closes link i could find is the ones for a honda cant find them anymore of the MINI. http://performanceshock.com/noltec/camber-plates-bolts/honda-integra-strut-mount

Ran them from 03-07 then went to a set of Megan Racing Shocks. Which i got real cheap since it was before they figure out the springs were too soft and everyone was having the mushroom problem. After i got them and did the measurement i change the springs immedditly. The orignal springs were for a 4" stroke shock. The Megans were only 3" stroke. Later they upped the rate on the springs.

so are they still in pretty good condition? i know that camber/caster plates aren't necessary for what i'm looking to do, but i won't pass up a good deal

Yep there in great shape. if your coming down to Richmond for Tomorrow Autox as posted here http://www.hrmini.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,32/topic,4287.0/Then you can come see them your self. enjoy a ride along with David or myself. I'm going to be looking for about 75.00 obo for them. Oh and if Jumping Jack Flash also wants to come down. he can pick up his transmission. it is ready for him to pick up.
