Okay folks, it's time to get some HR MINI shirts made up. Kathy, I and a couple others were chatting up the idea down at the Outer Banks last weekend.

I'll get some suggests as to what y'all want on the shirts and get with the MINI shirt guru Craig from Evergreen Graphics.

For those that don't know him, if you've seen ANY MINI shirt ANYWHERE, you've more than likely seen his work!

So what do we want on the shirts?

My suggestions:

A pic/outline/shadow image of the state and a star notating WHERE the HR area is!

Maybe something historical like Williamsburg's capital

Maybe a fighter like an F-15 or a Raptor

Aircraft Carrier?

The old logo really doesn't translate the location of the Hampton Roads area. We really need to tell people WHERE we are as well as display our pride of ownership. Give me some ideas of what y'all think will make a nice shirt!

I like the idea of the Raptor as that covers both sides of the water pretty well.  The Mini needs to be there too, of course :)

Christina had group shots arranged around aircraft. Those photos may help Craig with ideas.
I also like having VA with a little star identifying Hampton Roads

I like Kathy's idea with maybe an Aircraft Carrier as the point. Since the NAVY is better known for this area. 045
And put us down for 2 shirts.

Steve makes a good point. Really should have some have some Navy element, especially an Aircraft Carrier.

Agreed, air craft carriers work for both the Navy and the Shipyard!

Being the new guy in the club I really don't think I should get a vote yet. But for my two cents I would rather have something more historical. Being ex Army I really don't want to wear Navy emblems on my club shirt. No disrespect intended to anybody or any branch, but I couldn't see you Navy folks wanting to put a tank, trucks or infantry logos on a club shirt.

But whatever you all decide I will take four.

You could have the MINI in the center with items from all branches surrounding it.  A carrier, a tank, etc.  Have all military branch emblems to go with them.  Or, maybe you could them the shirt out with something from the surrounding cities.  Yorktown Battlefield, Monitor/Merrimac ship battle in the James, etc.

Hampton Roads is much more than military. We also have dolphins, mermaids, beehives, and Williamsburg. I was thinking of the statues spread around the cities as representation. Lighthouses and crabs too. Monitor and Merrimack, Blackbeard and Indians.

What about just a map of Hampton Roads, both sides of the water with a MINI emblem at our popular haunts such as the Pub and the place we meet on the southside?

I have to say... that I'd rather see something about the area, even a simple map rather than any military emblems. Even a lighthouse makes more sense to me for the 'area'. The historic triangle seems a bit far north of the actual club.. but there is a lot more than military here.

:)
