Hello there!  039

My name is Nicole and I'm a new member. Although, I may have been a member back in 2007 when I bought my first MINI, but I'm not sure. I was part of the GWR (#73 - I think) and participated in the autocross that summer over at the Amphib base.  Life got a little screwy for me a year later and I had to give up my baby.  022  She was an 07 Cooper S Convertible, BRG, black bonnet stripes, Sidewalk edition and the best little car EVER!

I've been wanting to get back in a MINI for a while now and I had been building dream versions online and watching for used ones as well.  Lo and behold... the other day my prayers were answered! I was driving down Military Hwy and spotted a Clubman on a used car lot that was my old baby's twin!!! The next day... she was MINE!  She's an 08 and very well maintained and I just love her so!  The only problem is that her owner's manual is missing and I'm not sure how everything works.

I'm looking forward to getting involved and meeting some new folks.  Hopefully there are still autocross events too, I really want to do that again!

Hi, Nicole!

If you give MINI USA a call, they might be able to ship you the manuals that are missing.

Welcome, or welcome back as the case may be. Don't forget VMSC still has autocrosses up at Richmond Int'l Speedway and NASA Mid Atlantic has some events at VA Motorsports Park in Dinwiddie.

Hope to see ya at one of our events soon!

Thanks for such a warm welcome!

I've called MINI once to find out how to reset the tire pressure monitor and they helped me with that, but when I asked about getting a manual she said I'd have to contact a local dealer and buy one.  I think I found a pdf version on NAM that will work. (I refuse to pay for one.)   icon_rolleyes

Yes, Mike, you did sell me that MINI! It was tough to let it go, but I'm really enjoying my Clubman. I no longer have the wine snob plates either. I'm still trying to decide on something new.

I see there's a message board for autocross. Since I only did that one and it was an MCASS, I think I'd be more comfortable doing another one of those. I'll keep an eye out over there for info.  (Is there a list of abbreviations somewhere, I'm not sure what all of the acronyms mean.)

Is the Cars & Coffee a monthly thing? I'm not available this weekend, but it sounds like a great opportunity to meet everyone.  I'm seriously considering the Cooper Vineyards run though, it will be the perfect end to my summer break before school starts up again.

Anyway, thanks again for the welcome and hope to see you soon!

Welcome back to the group.   icon_cool

This NAM user has a 2010 manual set for sale, but I think $50 is kinda pricy for used:  http://www.northamericanmotoring.com/marketplace/showproduct.php/product/19499/cat/all.  Until you get a chance to find one to keep in your MINI, you can download manuals here:  http://new.minimania.com/Downloads.cfm.  Just scroll down to the bottom; they are in the last section.

Greetings fellow MINI owners!

I am the proud owner of a 2009 MINI Cooper S in Williamsburg and if you've been to the burg and had a blue MINI zip by you, it was me!  Hence my license plate..............ZIPBYEU

I recently attended a MINI meeting in Williamsburg and we are trying to get a group started and plan events.  I don't see that you have MINIPALOOZA on the calendar, its September 17-18, 2011 at Shelton Vineyards in Dobson, NC.  It's a LOT of fun!!!!!  www.minipalooza.net.

Check it out!  I'm planning on heading down there on Friday, September 16, and would like to get a group to drive down together!!!

Thanks!  Look forward to meeting all in the near future!

I really meant to get that added to the calendar!  093

We did MINIPalooza the first year they had it, but we missed last year. First year we had laps at VIR. Last year that got canceled last minute and people bailed out on them. That really hurt the event and last year was the first year Tar Heel took over from Scott Sturdy in organizing.

But it was a good time. This year they're doing a picnic I understand after the vineyard.

Well, if you're in a MINI or BMW, I'm sure I've noticed you!  I'm in love with BMWs too!  I'll be on the lookout!  You should join the Williamsburg Minis.  We are meeting at 6:45 am on August 27th at the Candlelight Restaurant in Norge for breakfast and then heading to the Cooper Vineyards for the 2011 Cooper Vineyard Rally.

Our next "meeting" is September 10th @ 9:00 a.m., location TBD.

Actually, you should join us for our drive over to the vineyard. We stage at the Bruster's Ice Cream on Staple Mills Rd and have a semi spirited drive through the backroads to the vineyard. Last year we had 40+ MINIs on the run and Jacque reserves special parking for us once we get there.

I'll have a post tonight for the drive over.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome Saturday morning in Virginia Beach for the coffee gathering!  Ya'll are awesome!  I had a great time and enjoyed meeting all of you.

We've got a group of Williamsburg MINIs heading to the Cooper Vineyard 8/27 event and I'd like to try coordinating meeting up with the rest of the group as you pass by Williamsburg.  Is there a particular person heading of the event?

Thanks!!
