Hello everyone,
I'm about to pickup my first Mini ever. Its a 2010 base Clubman with an automatic. I wanted a 2011 Clubman but no one seemed to have one so I bargained for a service loaner out of Crown Mini in Richmond. They're giving it a good cleaning and fixing some minor cosmetics and I should pick it up in the next couple of days.

I traded in my 2000 Suburban which I've owned since new so, the mini will be a big change for me. I'm 6'4" and heavy set so, when I decided to get out of my gas guzzling bus and into something more fuel efficient, finding something both roomy enough for me and easy on gas was going to be a challenge. I was at a Honda dealership testing an Accord Coupe when I sat in a 2009 Cooper S while the salesman was getting a set of keys. I was seriously shocked by the room the mini had and decided to take a much closer look. As you all know the Mini's are incredibly fun to drive which is why I decided on the Mini Clubman because if I was going to scale down from my fully loaded Suburban for something fuel efficient it was going to have to be fun to drive.

Its awesome to be driving a car that fellow mini drivers always wave to you when they see you. I'm looking forward to many many miles of driving pleasure.

P.S. Oh, by the way, is there a special wave I should know about so I don't look like a Mini dork? You know, something like a gang sign. LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Just keep an eye open for other MINIs. I hate the oblivious MINI owner that just looks straight ahead. Heck, thy should've just bought a dang Sentra or something!

I am planning to attend the Cooper Vineyard Rally but I'm having trouble finding the info about where and when we're meeting to drive up together.

Go to top of page, click onto search and type in cooper vineyards.  Lots of info there.  Usually meet at Cracker barrel off I- 64 onto Mercury blvd ( Hampton) approx. two blocks on left and leave at 7am to Brusters ( 9101 W. staples mill road) in Richmond meeting up with others and then on to the vineyards by way of the twisties....

I'm sure someone here will step up and head up the group from Cracker Barrel up to Brusters. But Herb's times are spot on.

And don't forget, for those not able/or not wanting to make the "spirited" drive over, you can go straight up to Cooper Vineyards. We won't think any less of ya!. But ya will miss a good time!
