Ok so this is likely funny timing for posting this, but I was going to post it this weekend before Irene swept through anyway ..

I have a timeshare week at the Whaler Inn at Atlantic Beach that I'm only going to be using for a couple of days.
Since most of you are already in beach area, there might be no interest, but I'm going to post this to the HR and Tar Heel forums .. here's my thoughts ..

If anyone is interested in a get-a-way to Atlantic Beach for Sept 8 - 11th (possibly check in the 7th as long as it's after 4pm) I will make a MINI club member a great deal - $150 total for the 3 night stay.

My unit is B7, it's on the 2nd floor as you are looking at the photo on the website it's on the right.
It is described as having an "ocean view" (it's a side unit) not beach front (the ones facing the water)

Whaler Inn was a hotel converted to timeshares. It's modest but clean and roomy. It sleeps 6, technically. Two double beds in one room, a sleep sofa in the living room. Two bathrooms. Full kitchen, dining area, and washer/dryer. It's not fancy but it's fun and it is right on the beach. Oh, it also has an indoor pool and hot tub .. which was great when the boys were little if we got a rainy day at the beach. I've owned it for about 12 years and have stayed there 8-9 of those years.

There are no boats, campers, or, sorry, pets allowed. (I know that just knocked the interest out of 80% of the HR club members! :-)

Anyway, that's the deal .. I'm just trying to not let it go to waste since I can't use those days and maybe help a friend have an affordable weekend away. (The units are cleaned, fresh linens, towels, etc. on Wednesdays)

Disclaimer: I have not been in touch to know what, if any, damage has been sustained with the storm this weekend. While you can PM me or email your interest - first reply, first dibs - we won't confirm the transaction til after I've been able to determine that the place will be open and that it is still practical and fun to be there by then ..

claimed .. and no fair crashin' the party even if there will be a MINI in the parkin' lot :-)

PS I own several weeks .. the fall one at Atlantic Beach and two spring weeks at Carolina Beach .. I can never use them all (limited vacation time and I tend to spend most of it chasin' MINIs, imagine that!) while I don't usually offer them for the rate on this post (because it's a partial week) if anyone is ever interested PM me and I will send you the details; the ones at Carolina Beach are at a nice condo right on the beach and if you use the week I "own" it's $400 for the week (1 is late March, another is mid-May)
