After the first of the year it will be time for my next performance mod. So far the only thing I've added to my 07 MCS is a K&N Typhoon CAI. I'm looking for the next thing that will yield the most bang for the buck. My gut tells me it will be tuning, but I'm not the expert. Thanks.

What you really need is the Alta 3" catback system that I have for sale. :)

Sorry for the gratuitous spam but, I need the money!

An exhaust is a great first mod. Follow that up with some good tires, maybe a set of wheels. After all, contact with the road is important and a pretty easy modification to make. Then add a good set of shocks and finally a nice bigger rear sway bay. You'll be amazed how much that transforms the handling of a MINI.

Personally, not a big fan of tuning. Some out there love it, but I just don't see the value. Not to mention all the associated gremlins that can crop up.

Also consider a good High Performance Drivers Education (HPDE) school at VIR or Summit Point. Learning to drive a car to it's potential also makes a great deal of difference. Face it, all the power in the world is useless unless you know how to use it!!

Jeff, thats the hardtop version of my clubbie exhaust, isn't it?  I know i felt a good amount of difference putting it on mine.  Good exhaust!

I guess I should have clarified a bit. I meant power performance. The suspension and handling stuff I get already and will do as I go, but the power to the wheels is where I don't want to waste money. Being a daily driver I never want to add power that will decrease fuel economy below 30mpg until buy something else later on. I average around 33mpg according to the ECU.

Did I mention that I also have a set of boost tubes?  Brand new, never installed...   002
