Happy New Year Folks, I just wanted to drop a quick line to let anyone interested in the exploits of my little classic Mini, that a new lump(as the English call 'em) is in the works at Cooper Tune. Mr.Gibbs is currently preparing a 1275cc to be honed out to 1310cc. The auto stick will be going into the museum along with the old 998cc and a four speed with a tall 4th gear will take there place. I want to be able to run 80mph without revving to 6k and watching gas mileage just go away.

I promise to keep everyone informed as to the progress as we go along with this latest phase. Pictures will follow.

Completion of the project I'm hoping will be sometime in March.

It's gonna be nice John.  Saw your box of motor bits sitting next to mine.  1310 seems to be the going rate these days!

After this years "Turkey Run", I think I'll be able to "handle It" well enough. I did manage to keep him on all four wheels (just) after cruising a wee bit too fast thru a traffic circle. The curbing probably helped keep the wheels on the ground. 103  That and the fact that I didn't need to clean out my britches at the next stop would indicate I haven't lost my ability to drive along the edge  018

I'm pretty sure some upgraded brakes and some finer suspension bits will help too. But that will come later when more  $$$ become available. It ain't like I work at the USPS or something like that  119

As always, I enjoy your humor Steve   023

I'm not even going to bring up that other wise "cracker"  103 (that Blue Clubman Guy)

After reading this I think you should go with the suspension and upgraded brakes first. 017
Then do the POWER so the little guy can handle IT. 115

108 Sorry folks, I've been out of the loop for some time now. My job has me on the road up North a wee bit more than I had planned on. Hopefully, I'll get some time to get over to coopertune and get some color on that motor.

As for "events", we'll have to see what my calendar will allow. Some day's I wonder if I'll have time to do anything fun at all.

Maybe I'll apply for that Mail Carrier position afterall!  112
