Hey Gang, when we left Monterey last year, we had "settled" on the date of October 5-7. That was what basically worked out and I was a bit afraid that would be way too early for us to enjoy the color. Monterey's Heart and Hands festival was the weekend of the 12-14 and the Goldwing group was scheduled for later in the month.
Well, with some conferencing between Gregg at the Highland Inn and the Monterey Chamber of Commerce, they've agreed to let us "swap dates" with the Heart and Hands festival! SO, we move a week later, which will probably be even better for color and the CoC gets to move their festival to avoid conflicts with other regional fairs.
That's a WIN WIN as far as I'm concerned. It does conflict with Tarheel's MINIs Slay the Sleeping Dragon, but we'll just have to accept that and I had planned on doing that run with them this year. Guess I'll just have to get my Dragon fix in May!

All sounds good to me, except for the "Dragon Fix" in May, as Kath and I will not be able to go this year :-( 10th anniversary of MOTD, and I won't be able to attend. BUMMER !

The new dates allow us to run to Elkins again (CJ's), if you desire. The Forest Festival will be over. Just a thought.

We made our reservations in Monterey for the weekend of 5-6. Do I understand you to say we need to change them to the weekend of 12-13?

Reservation is not at the Inn, but at a B&B. I just wanted to make sure of the dates (12-13) before I called them.

Hold on to that date change. Seems there may be some issues with the new date. The Highland County Chamber of Commerce is still working on it. Stay tuned.
Right now, we're back to October 5-7, 2012
