As Terry pointed out in another thread, many of us are using Craig's awesome cartoon Mini drawings in our signatures, and we might want to have a shirt made using these adorable characters.

Here's a sample image Craig sent me:

We can worry about what to actually put on the shirt later, I just wanted you to see the basic layout.

Now for the tricky part.  I'm sure everyone would like to have his/her Mini on the shirt, but there's only room for nine cars.  However, we can do multiple runs, with a different set of nine cars for each run, but each run has to be a minimum of 24 shirts (some combination of T-shirts and sweatshirts).

My idea is to collect names of interested parties, and see if we can come up with nine people that are willing to buy 24 shirts between them.  Then I'd collect the money, get the shirts from Craig, and distribute them.  Of course, I'd only be passing on the actual cost of the shirts - no markup.

Since we have to get at least 24 shirts, I'd ask that if you want your personal car to appear on the shirt, that you be willing to buy at *least* two.  If we can do this, that accounts for the first 18 shirts, and hopefully we can make up the other 6 through people that either order more than two, or people that will want a shirt without their car having to be on it.

The T-shirts will be about $12.50 each, and I'm waiting on pricing for the sweatshirts.  As for colours, Craig suggested a light colour so that the cars stand out, as well as just choosing *one* shirt colour, so that none of the Mini's clash with the background.  Cream or grey, perhaps?

One last thing - due to technical limitations with the screen-printing process, at least two of the cars on the shirt will need to be the same colour, but I suspect that will work itself out naturally, considering the Electric-blue mafia we have going on around here. 8)

So, let me know if you would like to have your car immortalized on a shirt, and a rough approximation of how many you'd like.  Don't worry yet about T-shirt vs sweatshirt, or specific sizes -- I'm just trying to figure out if we can get enough people committed to warrant a run of 24 shirts.

To get things rolling, Riqui and I will each get three shirts, and would like our cars to appear on the shirt.

And here are the updated prices:

T-shirts are $12.50
Basic Jerzee 9 oz. crewneck sweat - $16
Hooded sweats are $22.75
Add $2 for XXL and $3 for XXXL for everything including tees.

Yes, I'm imagining that the big design will go on the back, with perhaps a small left-breast emblem on the front.  I'll ask Craig what our options are.

So far, we have three of the nine "car slots" filled, and nine shirts accounted for.  At this rate, we should be in good shape for the first print run.

I'll take at least six with the daisy car and a GP please?

4 tshirts and 2 polos

Fuzzy says make it eight if you use the GP with the devil horns on it.   I think it would be a nice link between HR MINI and Sin City MINIs.

Alright, we're well on our way!  So far if I've counted correctly, we have six of the nine car slots filled, and 18-20 of the 24 shirts accounted for.

I talked to Craig, and he said that the shirts don't *all* have to be the same colour.  Any of the light colours will probably work (grey, white, cream, tan), and that we could probably do pink for Sherry and anyone else that's interested.

He did say, however, that not all of the colours are available for all of the styles/sizes, so hold off for a little bit before you start picking colours.

Three more cars and at least 4-6 more shirts, and we'll have enough for the first run.  If it looks like there's enough interest for a second run as well, I'd like to gather all the information at once and submit both runs at the same time.

Scott, it would be a good idea to collect the money for the shirts when you place the order. ;) A 24 shirt run is a chunk of change to front.

I'll ask Craig if Polos are an option for this design.  Up to this point, we had only been talking about T-shirts, crew-neck sweatshirts, and hooded sweatshirts.  I don't know how well the knit polo fabric works with silkscreening.

Works fine, no problem.

Sherry, should I switch the daisies out with the GP wheels?  :smt077

MPETUOS, the wallet size are tiny, you might want to go with a thousand. :smt118

If you send me a picture, I can forward it on to Craig.  I'll put out a request for pictures/descriptions here shortly, after we have enough people signed up.
