Has anyone read Metro Girl by Janet Evanovich?

There is a Mini that the characters drive around in and some of the antics in it made me chuckle. :P

Written by Janet Evanovich:
....So I named the METRO GIRL after my daughter Alex and her dog Barnaby. And just for fun I gave METRO GIRL a Mini Cooper. It's a car my daughter and I would love to drive but unfortunately we can't shoehorn the dog in. A hundred and forty pound Saint Bernard does not fit in a Mini Cooper ...not unless he's driving

Well since we live on the "other side" , but since Obe manages to slide over to the "dark side" now and then  002  I'll just make sure I put it in his car now. That way whenever we all get together I'll give it to you :P

I'm currently reading The Descent by Jeff Long.  I haven't read a book in a long while that has me jumpy around the house. 119 Someone can come up behind me and scare the mess out of me so easily lately.  The family thinks it's funny of course and they are all taking full advantage of it.  I need to get a move on and finish it up and get back to my calm and cool self.

This week I ordered a few selections off eBay by Nicholas Sparks for a nice few calming reads during the winter season.  I really wanted to read his book Nights in Rodanthe before the movie comes out in Oct/Nov starring Richard Gear.  They acutally filmed much of it in Hatteras, NC.  I also purchased Message in a Bottle, already a major motion picture starry Kevin Costner.  The movie was excellent.  If anyone wants to borrow this one let me know since I've seen the movie I will put it on the back burner.  Others in the lot are The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, The Guardian, and A Bend in the Road.  If any of you have read the last few, please let me know what you thought of them.

I'll be keeping myself busy with these for awhile inbetween all my instructional beading books. 023  I'll highjack my own post here... If any of you want to get together before Christmas and learn to make a few handmade jewelry items as gifts let me know.  I have a table in my beading room that will seat six really well and I can squeeze in eight with no problems.  I'll be taking a few projects to work on during the ride/drive on the Fall Run in November if you want to sneek a peak at my beadwork.  023

Hey Donia,
I've read the Notebook and the Guardian. Pretty good reads!   Last year I got on the Jude Deveraux kick and her books are really good too. I just have this uncanny habit of reading the books, by anyone, out of order; so more often than not-I read the series backwards  101

Thanks so much for the input. 023  I'll start with Nights in Rodanthe since the movie is due out soon, followed by The Notebook and The Guardian.  I'll have to check out your other suggestion and keep my eye on eBay for a deal.

If anyone is interested in getting together and doing a girls night out when Nights in Rodanthe hits the theaters I'm in.  We could do dinner and a movie. 023

That is so not fair!  075  Beware... I warn you that I carry weapons on me at all times.

I PMed you concerning my making a thread to see if there's any interest in a bead gathering.  Keep your eyes out for it soon.

Wow, I didn't realize it was being released this soon.  We are leaving Friday for a weekend trip with the Hubby's Shelby GT500 to PA for some big car show that many of his forum buddies are attending.  Many of them are coming from a few states away and this will be our first time meeting them.   If they call for rain I'm sure we'll cancel out like many others.  Could we make it a night after the weekend?  I'm pretty much open for anything after this upcoming weekend.  Let's agree on a date and location then start a thread to see if anyone else is interested. 023
