I just got a new Intel 20" iMac and its the coolest thing I have ever bought, with the exception of the MINI. I love this thing! I am very new to the Mac world so if anyone has any tips please feel free to inform me. I wonder the % of MINI drivers who like Apple over Windows?

Isn't it strange how vegetarians prefer Apple computers?
You should be very happy with it. Let me know, I've been considering buying one.

Macs have always been the superior operating system in my opinion. However, I work in a Windows world. :-(

You should be very happy with it. Let me know, I've been considering buying one. So far it is awesome beyond words! I stayed up way too late last night screwing around with it and felt the pain when my alarm went off at 4AM today. I may even go home for lunch just so I can have more time with it. I am currently reading "Mac OS X Tiger All-in-One Desk Reference For Dummies" just to get a feel for everything.

I just got my iMac a couple mos. ago for my music projects, and I love it. Unfortunately alot of movies and music are windows based...I guess because the more affordable computers are windows operated, so I can only see stuff done with quicktime. But still the quality of the computer far surpasses anything out there. I remeber using Apple in middle school back in the day and how easy it was to use versus IBM, and you know what, that hasn't changed! I am not into gaming, but I do record music, and I was pleased as punch to be able to get a computer with a program already in it and no extra hardware to hook to it. Oh by the way, I LOVE chicken! :smt106 :smt035 :smt117

Couple of things (I have a Dual 1Ghz G4, a 20" G5 iMac, and a MacBook Pro):
1) Go to Microsoft's Mac site. Download Windows Media Player for Mac and install. Helps a lot.
2) Locally, the CompUSA at Janaf Center has an Apple area (with an "okay" software collection) and an employee that works for Apple at CompUSA.
3) Until the Apple Store opens in MacArthur Mall, the closest one is Short Pump in Richmond. Lots of software and stuff, plus classes and the "Apple Genius" that can diagnose what might be wrong with your Mac (when it happens).
4) Ask if you have questions - I'm pretty Mac versed.

I have tried to download Windows, however I am asked to choose an application to run in order to install, and I don't know which it is or whether I have it. Thanx for any advise.

:smt106 the last thing I would want to see on my new 20" screen is a Windows desktop!

Dude...I'm really jealous. I've been drooling over the 20" Intel Imac for months. Did you know: You can install Windows on it quickly and easily so you can run anything on the planet on her? http://www.versiontracker.com/bootcamp/That hopefully will be of some use to you if you need to keep something able to run windows eventually... it's A LOT better than the solution before, which was trying to run under Virtual PC. Maybe by Christmas Santa will have saved up enough to buy one.
